We have kept all our best players for the first time in a long time. We didn't buy anyone but we have good back up coming back from injury. I don't buy this 'they'll be like new players' rubbish that gets spouted but they are options we didn't have last year so in that respect are stronger.

So for me we haven't gone backwards from City at all. I'd say it's about parity with last year which as we know is a 1 point difference. Does that mean we'll beat them? No but it also doesn't mean we won't.

If their captain who missed more than half of their games was a massive loss, I am sure Pep would have made sure to keep him.

It’s not just his influence when playing but being there in general. Players like him will have a massive influence around the place as would Gerrard with us whether playing or not.

And City we’re looking at Maguire so obviously thought there was a need to replace. But even they’re not stupid or desperate enough to get mugged.

They anyway don't spend massively on a specific player, their record is I think 65m on Rodri. What they did is they bought a left back to play Laporte in the middle, his best position. I don't think Kompany was such a big influence, else they would have kept him

Everton are vastly stronger this year.
With Obi Wan Iwobi, who I think will be an excellent signing and Kean from Juve, no idea how they pulled that one off, they will be stronger in attack.

I don't think they will finish in the top 4 but I can see them beating Man Utd and Chelsea to 5th place.

With the top 4 being made up of City, Arsenal, us and Spurs.

The teams I think will do well outside the usual suspects will be the likes of Wolves who have kept their players and added more quality and Brenda’s Leicester even without Maguire who I think is vastly overrated.
Everton still have a rancid defense made weaker by them not signing Zouma.
I think there’s going to be a bigger chasm between the top half to bottom this season.

Enjoy watching Wolves play and fair do's to them for keeping their stand out players.

That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

Kompany wanted to leave to go home to Belgium, you can see how important Kompany was to City/Pep has he played him in all the run in games when the pressure was really on, his influence was key on City finishing above us during the PL run-in.

All City players had an influence in beating us to the title including Kompany and Sane. What I am saying, Pep has dealt with this in the transfer window. Will it be the same, better or worse, only time will tell, but Pep didn't sit on his laurels and did nothing, he made sure he got Laporte to play in the centre by buying a LB, Mandy will be back as well.

Sturridge scored 2 goals one which helped us beat PSG and qualify for the KO stages of the CL and 2nd a blinder to get us 1 pts against Chelsea. He left and Klopp replaced him with a teenager. Now if the teenager is like young Owen, it will be great otherwise it will be a bad decision.

All City players contributed to beating us over the season, you are correct, but when the chips were down, Pep turned to Kompany and played him for the run in when City needed his experience, influence and bottle to get over the line, squeaky bum time as Fergy used to put it.

We will see if City are as strong without Kompany, I think that sort of player is very hard to replace, like us replacing Carra, Stones won't give them that.

Arsenal - definitely stronger. Only notable loss was Ramsay, and their additions are decent. Tierney, Pepe, ceballos all good players.

Chelsea - significantly weaker

Spurs - slightly stronger. not sure how good ndombele is could be a big player for them

City - stronger. Cancelo and Rodri are both good players with alot of experience playing at the best teams. Kompany loss may hurt but he only averaged about 15 league appearances per season over the last 4 seasons so his loss isn't as big as what some think

United - slightly stronger. Lukaku loss may hurt them although he didnt play well last season. Their defensive additions look good.

Surprised people are not making more of Lukaku leaving, he regularly scores 20+ goals per season, leaves Utd looking light upfront with Sanchez out of form and over the hill, Martial sulking and inconsistent, Rashford who is good but not consistent and struggles on his own.
