I wouldn't hold your breath on dunc knowing much about this to be honest. All this talk about potential investors 'negotiating' and 'being at the table', along with Hicks scuppering 'perfectly good offers' has been pure B.S.
If we believe what our chalming chairman has said this afternoon at the press conference, no offers have been made and negotiations haven't taken place yet. So the likely hood of parties (ie Khalifa) walking away from the negotiating table, as claimed by our portly editor and his sources, would appear untrue.
Thoughts?
Yeh just one, you're very naive. Did he deny Abu Dhabi when asked today? Nope.
Broughton said: "I read all too frequently numbers being floated about in the media, normally associated with Tom Hicks's name. I would like to make it clear there is no number. There is no base line."
Broughton has clearly forgotten that in May co-owner Tom Hicks said in a live interview on Sky Sports News (we have a copy if needed for reference) that he valued the club at between £600m & £800m. Two numbers that he "floated" from his own mouth.
