A few mistakes sure but that's to be expected

I thought we grew into the game well. Could've won it really. Pep looked like a bit of an arsehole.

Yep, a typical late preseason game if you ask me.

Players getting into shape, but the last bit is missing here and there.

Very stretched teams towards the end of the game. As expected when players are running out of steam.

Someone else than Origi needs to start out left next friday. He looks more and more as a supersub only. Definitely not one for a starting place.

Should have won - had the best chances - hit the woodwork 3 times and had one cleared off the line. Don't think we should be too dejected about losing a pen shoot-out. City were lucky and we looked stronger as the game went on.

Second half was good. First half not so good. We need Mane and his speed.

We would have probably won if we had Mane or someone of his level, Origi is nowhere near. Firmino was not up to speed neither which is understandable but Brewster was considered not good enough. So far what most have been saying still looks obvious.

good game overall. Salah still rusty for sure (his shooting was not quite there - just blasting at the near post and hoping most of the time)

Under the circumstances it was a good result. At least we competed and gave them a scare, whilst it was also probably good preparation for us to get mentally as well as physically ready for Friday.

A moral victory for us even perhaps. One regret is that we lack the killer touch...esp against big teams lately. Need to take full adavantage when we're on top and it sounded like we could have done that in the 2nd half. That really would have give Pep something to moan and think about.
