I was gutted when Rushie left, and I was glad when he returned. I was gutted when Coutinho left, and I'd be glad if he returned. The world of football as in everything else has changed, we cannot expect the type of loyalty we had from players in the old days. The modern neoliberal world is all about moneymaking in its most vulgar and odious manafestation, we can only await its own destruction, or the destruction of the world's ecology and resources, whichever comes first.

I’d welcome Phil back. The thing for me though is I think we’ve played better without him so not sure how he’d fit in now? We’re a much more balanced side. We can defend now and we still score loads. For me at the moment he’d be a bench player.

The rumours on Neymar are picking up, if Barca sign Neymar they will need to offload either Dembele or Coutinho (or both), so then it becomes a negotiation for either of them, as Barca will have to sell and the transfer windows will be coming to an end..

Dembele although talented would want silly wages and guaranteed playing time. He’s also not the brightest and has been a headache for Barca to manage.

Phil cut any chance of him returning with his antics and Barca would want the lions share of they paid us back.

I’d rather us go for Eriksen who is not on silly wages and we wouldn’t have to break the bank to get him or Sancho again he wouldn't want silly wages and his price tag would be far less than Dembele or Phil.... or get both Eriksen and Sancho together.

Our transfer window ending really could hamper Spanish clubs looking to offload. Usually the end of a window is a scramble for buying clubs. Could be the other way around on this one.

Someone is going to get a cheeky loan deal or a cut price player as Barcelona and RM compete against each other for the top finished articles.

Two CL finals for us since Neymar left Barcelona was proof we had best front 3 in the world. Now Barcelona with Suarez, Messi, Greizmann, Dembele and possibly Neymar looking to overtake us. They won't be able to keep everyone happy.

If they are going to cast off players they will have to accept cast off prices or loan players out with a view to selling them at a more favourable time.

If we pull a major signing off it will be a masterstroke.

Can't see this happening in this window Klopp likes signing his first team players early.

We have shown in the past we can be pragmatic and move fast, as we did with Alisson last summer when we bought him late on after the pre-season friendlies started and Karius looked a liability, Roma also reduced his price, so we bought him.

Barca have just signed Griezmann for over £100 million, so I am sure Dembele & Coutinho will be pushed down the starting order, so I think they will be looking to move on as the front 3 will be Suarez/Messi/Griezmann, if Barca do a deal for Neymar, they will be right out the reckoning.

The PL clubs are one of the few with PSG & Juve who can pay the money Barca would want and the players the wages, so I can see a few last minute deals being done, LFC through the press have said a few times they don't plan a big signing, but if an opportunity occurs they could move, as they have done before.

We shouldn't wait for opportunities, that's my whole point, we have to go for 1 or 2 players who would improve our squad. Who could rotate with Mane if the latter is not fully fit or injured? Also don't think we can rely on Milner as LB should Robertson get injured. I am assuming here that Origi will be able to fit in Firmino's shoes and Brewster will have the same effect as young Owen.
