And another thing he speaks English not just the language but the spoken word of his fellow countrymen.

What I mean by that is whenever Benitez used to speak on post match press conference he said nothing at all that was of interest to fans. In early days fair enough but in latter days I think he hid behind the language barrier to dodge awkward questions and he always spoke in platitudes.

That’s unfair on the fans as after a disappointing result we naturally want to know what the managers view is.

Benitez was not candid and articulate but I have a feeling Roy will be.

What you see is what you get with him and i think he knows the premiership well and knows how to handle it. Hope he brings some good honest english talent with him now, lads who will put in a good shift. Keeping our star players will be hard but fingers crossed for him.

Good luck Roy, we've got a squad at the moment to challenge for a Champions League place.

The issue will be can he persuade our best players to stay, persuade class players to come to the club and can he inspire players?

To me its an appointment that shows the lack of ambition at the club- can remember Roy being linked to Chelsea, Man City or Man Utd to replace Fergie. It says our target is that 4th Champions League position with a very limited budget when our key competitors are investing in their teams.

I think its important to remember that the investment that is needed to compete is not there and that is not Roys fault.

Good luck Roy!

Welcome on board Roy.

Did Anyone watch or read his interview on Official site..He was honest, convincing and realistic/blunt about the ground realities and his targets..Im not creating a hype about him but I sincerely hope he atleast stabilizes the squad and brings back passion n unity.not just moan n moan about money.

Good luck Roy and i hope that you can convince Gerrard and Torres to stay. Anyone else who wishes to leave can just f**ck off.
