I think an ideal scenario would be to sign someone ready-made and able to tear the league up but with the price of the players being touted, I just don't think we'd consider it unless they were less than 27 and available at a reasonable price circa £50-65m.

If you consider our outgoings and the money we're saving on wages from players we kept all season (like Sturridge, Moreno, even Clyne) we have the opportunity to capitalise if we want to.

Asensio is a talent who is lost amongst a sea of it. Even if we can sit discussing why Madrid have fallen away so drastically, they need to rebuild to suit what Zizou wants and not because they're not more than capable players. Three times European Champions remember. Before he left he was progressing phenomenally and becoming more integrated and involved in the first XI. He's young, and youth talent is largely inconsistent. It's not like Trent matches Robertson for consistency yet! Honestly, I don't get why a talent like Asensio is overlooked for the likes of Vinicius Jr, Diaz and Vazquez and if we could loan to buy that'd suit us to the ground.

Absolutely not have Couts back... Don't any of you remember the sulking and refusal to play???

He upset the squad harmony.. Also Barca paid £65m the rest was CL winner payment etc, so I would be careful of that factor...

PMSL that he allegedly had to pay £12m to make the move happen...

He sunk my opinion of him to the floor after his shenanigans...

Ha, ha, that puts me fully back in my box Jan. I've been guilty of assuming, and that makes an ass/u/me (an ass of you and me) I must try to do better!

Hearing Real Madrid have backed out going for Eriksen, Zidane wants Pogba!
I believe Eriksen pretty much was packed before CL Final in him thinking he was off to Madrid.

We should consider testing the water for Eriksen as he isn’t on very high wages at Spurs and he may see us as a preferable place to come after our CL win.

We have too many midfielders, this is not a priority unless we sell.

Our midfielders are mostly workhorses, we never replaced what Coutinho gave us there, but we do need to, whoever it might be. We don't score nearly enough goals from midfielders. Klopp apparently knows this otherwise he wouldn't have tried to sign Fekir last season. There's no excuse this season. Some say Ox can do what Coutinho did, but for me he's a totally different type player, he's more of workhorse type that we already have in abundance. We need more creativity and more goal in our midfield, and surely looking at the goal returns from there in our last season or two confirms that, loud and clear.
