The only team that seems to be in for him is Real Madrid and they've already bought Hazard for 90m and Jovic for 60m. If they are in for Eriksen it's going to take their spending near 200m which must mean they'll be trying to offload players to meet FFP restrictions. Zidane has also stated he wants Pogba so I just can't see how Real Madrid get Eriksen as well?

I'd like to think Eriksen's name is being mentioned by Klopp and Edwards at this present moment in time because we can afford him and his wages aren't likely to be too excessive coming from Spurs. He's the kind of quality we need.

I agree, I couldn't believe it when Tottenham bought him so cheaply at the end of the transfer window, Molby was always going on about him and how he would suit us and liked Liverpool, I just don't understand why the deal was never done, he played at a top cub like Ajax, so could handle that, then we go spend £20 million on Markovic, go figure, at least we seem to have moved on from those transfer calamitys now.

I#d take him now happily, but I doubt Tottenham would sell to a rival like us, he's have to work harder at tracking back/closing down under Klopp, but he'd be a great replacement for the Coutinho role.

I think the fact that they were finishing above us and in the Champions league more often had more to do with it than moneyball.

When you look at the amount of money we spent signing loads of "potential" at that time, and as ecnirp says above, 20m on; what's his name...it's hard to argue it wasn't moneyball shiit though red.

We tried to buy Eriksen. He turned us down. What does that have to do with moneyball?

And we used that same approach to buy Salah, Coutinho, Sturridge, Firmino, Mane, Robertson, Henderson, and Suarez. I don't think there is a problem with that, and we have one of the best recruitment teams in the world right now. It took awhile to iron out the kinks, but it seems to be working. Spurs themselves have a very similar approach.

Yes but we also bought quite a few that had to be shipped out after a couple of season

Again, what did that have to do with Eriksen chosing Tottenham over us?

Did we actually try to buy Eriksen? we were linked allot but I've never heard he turned us down? it was reported he wanted to join us, but we were dithering, similar happened with Dele Alli.

Real Madrid are looking to offload Bale which will probably be a no go because of his wages. Only club stupid enough to get involved with that sort of deal is Scumchester. However they are also looking to hawk Asensio around.

Now whilst he is too much money for what he has become ( a bit part player in a failing team) he MIGHT just be available to us on a cheeky loan deal. Let's not forget he has experience in CL.

Yep but we will need to sell Shaq as we it would be 3 players for 1 position. However, I doubt it will happen and to be honest haven't watched him this year, don't know how good he still is.
