We have broken another record this season, we are the first team to surpass £250m in tv revenue.. That happened this season...

We can buy Mbape now.... lol...

Maybe we will buy a young marquee player, we got £100m+ prem finish position revenue to add and player sales to come..

The problem with spending £100m on a player like Jadon Sancho or Joao Felix or £60m on De Ligt is what happens at the next contract?

£60m to £100m plus wages all goes down the toilet after 5 years when you have a player possibly worth £200m at 24 who won't sign a new contract. Their agent will be trying to pocket as much as they can from deals.

We are seeing now with Mbappe that he is looking to get out of PSG. What club is going to spend £150m+ on him on massive wages for him to maybe want to move on again before he is 25?

Meanwhile we could pick up half a dozen Andy Robertson's for £8m apiece.

What do you mean by 'what happens at the next contract'? We can sell at least 1 year before the next contract if the price is good, for example Suarez, or renew his contract thus not needing to spend a lot to buy. Yes, it's better to buy a player at 8m like Robertson or Coutinho, but it is a gamble as they can turn out to be Aspas and Borini. Are you saying we shouldn't have bought Alison and Van Dijk?

Not at all. Look at the ages of all the players I mentioned. 19 19 and 21.

At the end of 5 years they will still be at their peak. The thing we are doing as s club is buying at a certain age. Their first contract takes them through 4 or all 5 of their peak years. The one player we couldn't hang on to was Can. He was 20 or 21 when we signed him and was determined to leave despite us offering a massive contract in his last year.

Be careful what you wish for or we will end up with mercenaries like Rooney, Sanchez, Pogba and others in the " I want over £300k a week" bracket.

We bought VVD and Alisson at the right time. We should not let the tail wag the dog here.

Contracts are tricky things. Our owners don't get enough credit for managing this.

Also if we sign a big name player on a huge contract, lets say a De Ligt on £300K a week, the agents of the likes of VvD/Salah/Mane will be knocking on Klopp's door to pay them similar based on their value to the team.

Look at the problems Utd are having with Sanchez on crazy money, the likes of Rashford/Martial want huge contracts based on Sanchez earning fortunes and not playing.

We have to be careful how we manage the squad, bringing in a player on huge money could really damage that.

You are talking about something else now, ie wages. I agree that we have to be within a wage structure. This is different to the price to buy a player.

I just couldn't see Klopp falling into that trap, paying a new player 250-300k a week, no matter how good they are.

The best thing about LFC at the moment is the cohesiveness of the team especially compared to the likes of Man U and PSG. I'd be quite happy to splash the cash at the VVD/Alisson level but I get the feeling Klopp seeks the right fit in all aspects, physical and mental.

Interesting how well Pep's done at city to keep the team so together, but then he's spent a lot of $ without spending more than £60m or so one any one player. No real Neymar type players before they were signed.

One thing this proves is the raising the ticket prices to build extra seats in Anfield rd for extra 6000 seats - WAS NOT needed..

Surely they knew that at the time..?

No, it doesn't prove that at all, it looks to me that the investment in the new stand has a relatively quick pay back period and therefore will start increasing financial resources very quickly especially compared to the likes of Arsenal and Spurs. I don't know what you are talking about
