Henry is a very good businessman but the benefit of that is for himself. He was taken a global club put the minimum investment and gaining the maximum value. He will make a huge amount of money out of the club. But when he goes the club will be left with an old decrepit stadium and the need for vast investment in infrastructure. But john Henry will have done very well so that makes it ok An old decrepit stadium but with 55k seats and I am sure more than 60k rather sooner than later, same as Arsenal and Spurs, second to United only. In the meantime both Arsenal and Spurs, especially the latter cannot spend on players. What's the use of a new shiny stadium if we end up in the mid table? And I better not talk about the atmosphere which everybody says is unique, it's not by chance that we seem to play incredible at Anfield like beating Barca. These are good points. A few years ago I wasn't sure, but I'm not sure it would be worth it, honestly. Spurs couldn't invest this season, and they came up short last night. Arsenal came up short in the Europa league, and have nothing in recent history other than FA cups. And I'm not sure I'd give up the Anfield advantage for anything. Ask any team in Europe where they DON'T want to play an away leg. Wenger on BT the other night was talking about how key it's been.

Yeah in hindsight it was good that we ditched the new stadium idea otherwise it would have crippled us and success/silverware would have been impossible on a regular basis along with CL qualification.
Extending Anfield is the right way to go. After seeing how much the team means to this City, The Council can make a workaround to make it viable for Anfield to be extended to enable us to compete at the highest level for future generations. I don't think it unreasonable for our Owners to look at a stadium expansion Capacity of 70 to 75k within the next 5 years. If it means offering folks a reasonable amount for their homes or finding a site close by where new homes can be built and folks moved there. They'll still be apart of the Community without upsetting them too much.

from everything i read the only way we can go over 60/61k is if we invest some money on doing up a old train line. if memory serves me right it will cost liverpool around 25m. extending anfield would be the one single thing i want the most. would love them to go to 75k but i think 65k would be more realistic

Would be surprised if this stadium could be extended to 75k.

Whilst it is still fresh in the memory we should ask The City Council to take another look at expansion plans. Seeing the amount of folks at that victory parade must have John W Henry & Tom Werner thinking about what next?

It's not about numbers on the street but dosh in their wallets There is still a huge waiting list for Season Tickets, I am sure they could sell another 10,000 without a problem. It's also now about the corporate use, the Main stand has added allot of corporate facilities and is generating big money, so I am guessing more could be incorporated, keeping the season ticket prices to a reasonable level. As people have said, Anfield is a unique stadium, generating huge atmosphere as we have experienced this season, that history cannot be recreated in a shiny new stadium, no matter how good the drinks machines are!

Don't care who stood where for how long or how much cash John made.
We are Champions of Europe. Take that to the bank.

I am glad for Karius, he was always going to be remembered for costing Liverpool the CL last season, now we have won it, people will forget about last years loss, hopefully, he can get his career back on track now.

We are Champions of Europe. Take that to the bank. Yeah I'm not too concerned about who makes what cash either, it's more about winning things that concerns me too. All I'd say about the cash aspect of it, is that I'd like to see it invested in strengthening the squad, and on upgrading and expanding the stadium to modern and competitive standards and capacity.
