Links to Depay appear to be gathering some steam, with us linked with a £35m bid.
Is he a good fit for us? He's undoubtedly got talent, and would be an upgrade on our attacking reinforcements, but is he a Klopp player? Will he track back enough?
35m in todays market is pretty good value if he can play the way Klopp wants. If we do sign him, I'd imagine that would be it for our attacking reinforcements.

Unless he's grown up since the time he left Man Utd...no thanks!
As soon as he went to Utd he bought a Rolls Royce and swanned around Manchester like "The Big I Am", parking it anywhere. One time he parked it outside a restaurant front window and went in and had a meal with his GF to come out to a parking attendant putting a ticket on his roller. In front of the attendant he removed from the window, scrunched it up and threw it on the floor, got into his roller and drove away.
I think we can all agree Depay although talented has an horrendous attitude!

Yeah, if his attitude is the same then we need to avoid. He wouldn't be my first choice either way, but if he's matured and willing to work hard, then he could be a decent option at £35m.

Buying from Lyon is always complicated and will probably drag throughout the summer

Klopp & the team will be doing all their usual background checks, so if he's anything like the reports, Klopp won't touch him with a barge pole, I am guessing he is a distraction while we work on our real target, probably his agent is also generating allot of those reports.

I think there a lot of similarities between Depay and Zaha. Both failed miserably at Scumchester and both have gone on to do better away from there.
For 3 or 4 years Scumchester saw some really high profile failures and we can add Falcao and di Maria into the mix here. For £35m Depay still represents a bit of a risk but not as much as Zaha who is very overpriced.
Read his wiki page and he seems a sort of in and out player and his effort rate has been questionable at times. But he has just had a very good season and this could be another Sa!ah for us. Take his time at Scumchester away and he has performed very well although unlike Zaha not in the PL.
With fellow Dutch players VVD and Wijnaldum in our squad perhaps he would settle better second time around. He ticks most of the boxes regarding age, experience, recent form, resale value etc.
If we are looking at one player who can help take some of the minutes away from key starters he might be the one. But does he want to primarily be on the bench until mid October because that is what tends to happen here. And the results of that practice are clear to see in Robertson, Keita, Fabinho, Ox and Firmino.

I wanted him before he went to Utd and id still take him now. He'd fit us perfectly.
Has the confidence and the skill to go past a player with ease. Great shot on him, great at set pieces. Can't see it tho

I'd take him at that price. He started off pretty well at Manu and then nose dived, but as sso said so did loads of other players. 35m is the new 15m, worth a go and good cover.

A bit underwhelming if we get him but I was underwhelmed with Salah signing too and look how that turned out. Like others, for what is a relatively small fee for an established(?) player it’s not much of a gamble.

No idea on this one. But I would not go on what he was like at Utd much as he was young and at a big club. Seems to be talented though. If he has an attitude then he won't be here, so no need to worry about that.
