Will watch this with interest from now on..If it happens they will force him to hand in a transfer request no way they will negotiate a fee without that.

Hang on, he hasn't met the new manager & he has already decided to leave? Sorry, doesn't add up just yet. Me thinks this story might be mischief making as usual.

everything on here is story telling, if he wants to go then let him. We want players with the passion for playing in the red of liverpool and not just to pick up a big wage, i remember when it was an honour for a player just to be linked with our club and that players would walk to sign for us well lets hope if it is Roy in charge and Stevie G does go that Roy instills fight and passion into what ever players he will have at his disposal and that they show people that they have a right to wear the famous liver bird on their chest. Also we seem to have won more games without Stevie G than with him in the team and that is a fact, but if he stays than i'll still cheer him on and hopefully he'll bring oot the best in players like shelvey and spearing.

There are just so many things we would like to know. If Roy H has a £15 million ' war chest ' ( less any compensation to Fulham, it seems ) is that ' new money ', or can Roy add to that a percentage of money generated by sales ? ( Again it would be too much to hope for that he'd get the whole lot ). Is it the fact that if a bid comes in for one of our players, H and G can in effect compel the management to accept, and decide how much of it can be used towards a replacement ?
But I think we can be certain of one thing. We can't ask questions like this but Roy H can, and if the answers are not to his liking, he can simply pull out. Is this the reason for the hold up in announcing his appointment ?

Great first post Mike. You pose some good questions. When talking about his budget and what you call "new money" I think that probably is the hold up and also why I think Rafa went. I think that money from sales is always put back into the pot to buy players and that the main sticking point is what "new money" the club/H & G are willing to put into the pot. This is where Rafa felt mislead last summer when the club forced him to pay for all the new contracts out of the "new money" they'd put into the transfer pot when he thought he'd still got that to spend on players. RH has got to be firm and demand that the club are honest with him from the off and that he gets what he wants. He's in a strong position to negotiate on this and he must demand the money made from the January sales of Veronin and Dossena and not have that money put in as part of his "new money" budget.

My view on Gerrard...

He's our current Club captain served the club through thick and thin. He turned down transferes to over clubs hes trusted the liverpool board with his career and in return he's had many broken promises liverpool is falling apart in front of his and our eyes unless the yanks get out LFC future is looking dull. I believe stevie needs to move on and win something its what he desires and deserves hes been our best player for many years and in return we keep letting him down. all i can say is Good luck Gerrard with the right back he could of led liverpool to many more trophys.
