Going back to Real this summer and will likely be sold on. A few clubs have been linked, including us. I’d like to see us go for him, I think he’d be great with mane, Salah and Firmino ahead of him.

Ship out Sturridge, Lallana and Origi and bring in Rodriguez and Brandt, then bring Harry Wilson and Brewster into the first team squad, and we’d have great depth off the bench.

Then maybe need to bring in some cover at Full back, but Milner can cover there if necessary

On second thoughts, after a bit more digging I see that Brandt is more of a midfield player, I’d thought he played across the front 3. He certainly got forward a lot whenever I’ve seen him! But in that basis I guess it would be only one of Rodriguez or Brandt and then a striker

Rodriguez is 28 in the summer and although he scores at a rate of 1 in 3 games I wonder if he is past his best?

If he was that good someone would have snapped him up already and it looks like he may not be Zidane's cup of tea.

Is he one of these in the Pogba, Sanchez, Ozil league? High pay and disruptive. I don't know that much about him but at 28 he would be the oldest major signing made by Klopp and the resale value very limited.

I would be very surprised if we went in for him on a permanent deal.

Good point, it would obviously depend massively on how much they’d want for him. If we could get him cheap as they don’t want him then could be worth it, but I think you’re right in that they’d want too much money.

Rodriguez is lazy, he wouldn't chase the ball if he came to us.
He was a passenger in our games v Bayern, absolutely non-existent...he'd be a horrible acquisition for us...no thanks.

Can't see this happening, too old, unless very cheap.

Wrong player profile for us as others have pointed out.

He looks technically gifted though, but I think he is another one in the Origi mould. One good World Cup and everyone thought he would be the new Messi/Maradona. Has and will never happen.

Klopp won't buy players that don't run for the team.
