Excited about this. Will be great to see Virgil up against Messi. Hoping for an away goal or 2.

We can't give them too much respect, just play our game to the fullest and hope for a result. We need to go to Anfield with a chance of qualifying and I will be happy.

Agree with that Snakeye...I hope Klopp goes with a plan to try and hurt Barca and not to try to contain them. He had the containment plan at The Etihaad and it led to our mini slump and erosion of our commanding lead in the PL.
The ONLY team to get a win at the Nou Camp in 2 years was Real Betis back in November 3 v 4. Barca can be got at as Betis showed by targeting Barca's fullbacks which kept pushing up. There should be some joy for the likes of Salah / TAA & Mane / Robertson out wide and Barca are not the tallest or greatest defence, We've hurt teams with balls swung into the box from out wide, regularly this season and it's a tactic that will hurt Barca if we make sure we have the willing runners into the box.
It's important Klopp gets the midfield right because that is probably our achilles heel against teams like Barca who play through the middle like a hot knife through butter. That's why I believe our 1st player in the midfield should be Fabinho who is great at breaking up the play in the middle. The choice then is between Wij, Henderson & Milner for the other 2 places. Keita should be on the bench for this because he doesn't have the pressing / tackling qualities of the others just yet.
I'd probably go Wij and Henderson, leaving Milner on the bench to introduce later on to see out the game. Wij has been decent this season and can get vital goals from open play and also for his heading ability because I do believe set pieces and the ball coming in from out wide into the box will hurt Barca. Then Henderson who we've seen of late getting forward to support the attack, chipping in with some decent passes and can be a goal threat.
If Bobby is fit he has to play, no point thinking about Newcastle when our most obvious route to silverware is to dismantle Messi & Co.
It's important we don't allow Barca to play pinball from the off otherwise we'll be in for a long night. Break up their play by pressing them and get it out wide and let Mane/Robertson & Salah/TAA hurt them.
Come on Redmen!!!

Yes agree with most of that Pickles, Fabinho in the holding role with Henderson a little ofurther forward to increase the pressure on their defence, which is their weakest area, though still a tough nut to crack. We can win there, but it's by no means easy, we'll have to be at our best all over the pitch, and we need to keep Messi on his weaker foot, when he inevitably gets on the ball, that's a challenge in itself, without even thinking about Suarez, Coutinho, etc, etc!

Need to go for the win with our full strength team, which for me, right now, is:
Alisson TAA Matip VVD Robertson
Henderson Fabinho Keita
Salah Firmino Mane
If we try to play for a draw I think we'll lose

I'm hoping the likes of Henderson can remember Suarez and Coutinho's weaker side of their game and transmit it to our other players. If Coutinho plays it's important Alisson knows just where the little magician favors striking from distance to. He always liked to get it onto his right foot and aim for the Goalkeepers left...it's little bits of knowledge like this that will win us the tie.

Agreed we need to play with energy but also with intelligence, creativity and guile, the winner of this tie will be hot favourite to take the spoils. It would be imperative I feel to bring an away goal or two back to Anfield for the second leg, and of course a clean sheet tonight will be a huge benefit. Come on ye magnificent red's! YNWA.
