I’d imagine some of that money would’ve come from the EU too which won’t be coming now. And was any of that money from the government available for FSG? I remember it in Moore’s days and for H&G.
But even if it was, FSG are hardly here for a short term return. They’ve taken nothing from the club and have turned it around financially. What ever you say, building a new stadium isn’t good for their business or the club. The outlay would set us back years. Would you be happy for us to finance a new stadium over buying the likes of VVD, Allison, Salah etc because that’s what would happen.
It seems that you just want to ‘keep up with the Jones’s’ and to be able to sit in a new stadium and sod what it does to the club.

I want us to buy top players win trophies and have a top stadium other clubs manage it why not us ? And the government grants were available in FSG,s reign but that died when they cancelled the stadium plan. It's possible that dream has died now even with new owners the environment seems to be going although Everton have nipped in. You guys seems to be getting confused I am not talking about mr big buying the club or john Henry to go into massive debt but a long term plan and partnership possibly involving new investors. If you look at all big infrastructure projects they are funded in this way. As for the EU the EU gives us nothing we are net contributors. However post brexit I expect more regional governance and that could give opportunities. However I think the boat has sailed and we are stuck with what we have now,

Incidently for me personally at my age staying at anfield with my prime seat by the halfway line having a limited non future proof stadium and spending the money on players suits me down to the ground. I am thinking of young fans and the future not myself

Oh dear. Thinking of the young fans? For someone who can’t see into the future you do seem to know an awful lot about it.

Well do you know the future then ? please tell us All I know is almost all our rivals either have big stadia with loads of space for future expansion or are building new purpose build stadia. We have neither. So all those boards of directors have got it all wrong. They should have listened to you

City were gifted a stadium. Utd built theirs over time (ring any bells?), Chelsea don’t look to be bothering so that just leaves Spurs who are massively over time and have a cost running towards a billion. They also didn’t (couldn’t?) strengthen their squad in the summer. And Everton will never be a rival regardless of a half empty brand new stadium. So who exactly is getting the jump on us regarding the stadium? How many boards know more than ours?
Only Arsenal have built and financed a new stadium and have suffered badly where it counts, on the pitch. Is this what you want for us?
I’m not claiming to know the future any more than you say you don’t but you’re the one who seems adamant that a new stadium is the way forward and that we’ll be worse off long term.

United have developed old Trafford I agree but old Trafford has space and infrastructure anfield doesn't. Even if we buy more houses around it's still restrictioned. And how do you know Everton won't be future rivals ? In my lifetime they have been direct rivals certainly in the 80's and 60,s they were how do you know those days won't return ? Anyway I hope you are right if having a limited stadium is the way to go we are going to hit the jackpot in future

I don't think there was ever a plan of going beyond that number, apparently the new Everton stadium which is making you wet will have 50k seats.

And as I remember they didn’t have the infrastructure to start with so what could we do?

Uniteds ground has always been in a better location than ours. One thing I forgot to mention also is that it's on Salford quays home of BBC and media city and and kinds of action. Anfield has a chip shop by the arkles pub and in a very poor area of Liverpool
Night and day difference
When Everton get their stadium in will be in the heart of development and near to cruise liner terminal and god knows what.
It's far more than just the number of seats in any case even that the upper upper limit is 60k I think without moving streets of terraced houses what happens if it becomes the norm big clubs have 90k ? United are nearly there now
You can't just add 30k seats anywhere it has to gain planning permission and that means infrastructure roads and travel option and space.
