Hesitated before posting this mainly because of SP, but thought, wtf, we are here to debate right?

Anybody knows how Everton will be financing this? They will have a little bit less seats than us and they cannot increase their ticket prices too much as their fans are more local compared to us and United, who apparently cannot afford to buy tickets above 50 quids. Taking a loan would mean all revenue generated will be gone into finance charges.

I think they will struggle, as long as their new owner doesn't act like a suggar daddy.

In a relatively small city like Liverpool, I assume we have already soaked up much of the possible local sponsorship deals. That means they would have to go national. But their haul isn't much more but local - given their sport wise level.

I think they will have to do a Spurs - in other words don't sign any new top players for a foreseeable future.

Uncle Joe will look after them..... I'm sure there are lots of grants he can give.....

I think it's funny that the new stadium will still be smaller than ours.

52000 and could be 60000 and in a far better location than ours right in the heart of the city and on the waterfront where it's all happening. Anfield is a run down residential area on the outskirts of the city

I don't know much about the financing but I heard some is coming from the city region redevelopment fund something we could have accessed had we taken another route

How much, do you know? I suppose the cost will be close to a billion, Spurs stadium will be above that but for 60k seats but built a few years before.

The cost/benefits also depends on the stadium complex usage and patronage for other sports and purposes other than football matches, like concerts and restaurants etc.

And when you see the kind of stadiums built this century, like the Mercedes Stadium in Atlanta, you have to question how long should clubs hang on to old stadiums.

The Benz is a beaut, no question about it. Been to it myself, as it's in my hometown. But you have to understand, it was paid for by City of Atlanta Revenue bonds, and it's used for the Atlanta Falcons as well as Atlanta United, and it's primarily an NFL stadium. It's also hosting the Super Bowl next year.

LFC wouldn't have another Sports team and the City helping to pay for our stadium, and neither will Everton.

Evertons new stadium will be on the main hub of the dockland area but it will only be about 2 miles away from us and their old ground.
As for funding big joe will help as much as is possible.
It will look good though.
