Yes as per the title!

He has sustained a fracture to the lower left leg. https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/328824-joe-gomez-injury-latest-liverpool

Come back for him in February it is then.

I have 3 things to say about this matter:

1) Why oh why did Klopp play him at rb? He isn't particularly good out there, so either Trent needed a rest or Gomez needed a rest. In either case we should have used someone else at rb. Gomez belongs next to VvD as CB. End of! In other words I blame Klopp for this debacle he has put us in. Now we need to rely on Matip and the best CB in the world over the busy crimbo period facing all possible tough opposition.

2) Burnley should be prosecuted for the way they started the game with all their nasty reckless sliding tackles on a wet pitch.

3) The referee should have put his foot down and told Burnley to chill, or he should have yellow and red carded them immediately!

So that's it. Now we'll see how good our Croatian player is in reality!

What do you guys think about this matter?

Looks like we started the post at the same time!

I'm gutted he's out. I wouldn't mind getting rid of Lovren and Matip and getting someone else in January.

Gutted he's injured. Been a shining light this season. Glad it's not the season though. We'll need him.

Could have been allot worse for him, I thought he might be out for allot longer the way Klopp was speaking after the game, at least it's not something that could be re-occurring like hamstrings.

Players can be injured at any time, so I don't think we can complain that Klopp played him at RB, Klopp expected Burnley to by physical and wanted Gomez power and size in there, so you can't blame him.

I really don't know whats happening with Clyne, will be interesting to see if he comes back with all the game we have while Gomez is out.

I dont uderstand why Gomez is doing double duty at CB and RB when we have Clyne who can rotate with Trent. Clyne played one game this season and was very good so it's not like he lost his quality all of a sudden. Klopp is responsible for this, we just lost our best CB pairing when we needed them against Napoli and the busy fixture pile up coming up. This should have been avoided so it's very frustrating.

The point, surely, is that Joe is super central defender and will be a Liverpool great in that position.
He also can do a decent job at right back, although hasn't got the attacking skills of Trent.
Clyne is not a better right back, defensively than either Joe or Trent and he is awful with the ball at his feet.

I wish Joe a speedy recovery because I wan to see him win trophies with LFC

That's a blow but as others have said it could be worse with a muscle injury

I think Clyne (as he was before injuries 2 years ago) is a better defender at RB than TAA or Gomez, going forward TAA is much better.

If Clyne is fit, he would be good enough to play at RB now, obviously there is more to this than just football ability.

Shame for Gomez this. He was doing really well this year. But as Dychey reminded us, they were all good tackles in that game!

Yeah it's a real body blow at the worst possible time too. I was fully expecting our lads to take a hammering from a loutish side, but if you were to pick a player to have his bones broken it wouldn't be young Gomez, he's a very clean and tidy player himself and didn't deserve that.
