One must also factor in the cost of lost opportunity, which we'll be paying for a generation or more, not to mention all that fuckkinngs around with the silly and failed moneyball shiit, for six or so wasted years. What lost opportunity and who is going to pay for a generation or more? What are you talking about?

Most of the starting 11 are now "World Class" and so is the manager. Before Klopp's arrival we only had one or two players of that calibre.
That said, we have yet to win anything at all and even though football is a business, celebrating winning trophies is what matters to the fans.
Being competitive is great, but this season has to bear fruit. And the club has to build a management team and succession plan (post Klopp), not just a better team squad, to maintain a winning dynasty.

That part is hardly their fault thought. 5 cup finals in 8 years. 1 league runners-up. Not getting over the line isn't exactly an upper-management problem, it's an execution issue lower down. All they can do is provide the resources to get the team in the opportunities to win the trophies, and change things if it doesn't happen, which to be fair, they have.

When it comes to F$G, the fans and anti F$G groups were proven right in the early days. The rhetoric towards any owner from it's fan base has always been that you need to splash the cash to achieve success and they have now started doing that.
Of course, the meaning of success is 7 page thread in it's own right but there's no denying the 3 finals and continuing to snap at the heals of Cithe.
As I walked home from the pub last night (Sunday) I looked over at the stadium and saw that the lights were on and was wondering what was going on. After coming in and booting the kids off the telly to watch the news, it transpired that Anfield had hosted England v New Zealand Rugby International. F$G have certainly flexed their commercial prowess considering that Anfield is surrounded by at least 3 other stadiums within a 30 minute drive that's capable hosting the same event. Not least, the Blue Shyte stadium.
I was a negative with F$G but after the Allison purchase this summer, I've now passed through neutral and I'm now a positive. Let's hope they don't become an Ashley, and put us on life support in the future.

Also amen to your point about their conversion to competitive reality in the transfer market. Let's hope there'll be no backsliding in that respect. And then at my age is eight years an acceptable price for them to finally achieve rectitude?

Their hopes are pinned on Klopp.If he succeeds and lfc challenge at the top all seems rosy.If he does not and lfc are 5th 6th 7th etc then the focus returns to the fsg policy....although I have to say they have made the money all available from sales without any real investment without sales.Alongside that the club has vastly increased in value as has revenue..all on a break even budget from fsg..in other words in real terms they have invested little and made big returns.

They have invested 300m to buy the club and given a shareholder loan of about 150m. That said, the club is quite self financing now. To be fair they always said they wanted the club to be self sustaining. Probably the best run club in the EPL with Spurs and Arsenal

They bought the debt of the club with loans to do so.loaded a loan to the club onto the club meaning they will reclaim that as well if they ever sell up.
Self sufficient yes...but were has all the surplus money gone...tv money etc.
Players purchased has been funded by player sales and lowering wage structure at the club.

No, they did not load the club with loans, the shareholder loan is for increasing the stadium capacity. Not all purchases have been funded with sales, do the maths, it was partly funded by sales and partly by revenues generated. Don't think the wage structure had gone down following the new contracts and new players. Money cannot just disappear as LFC is a company.

do the maths and you will see fsg have practicaly spent nothing other than what the club has turned over.
150m was loaded on to the club...like a bank loan..they will want it back with interest...150m that they probably took from the club anyway then loaned it back.
