Sturridge,s record at Liverpool is one of not playing and drawing huge wages and at times behaving unprofessionally. I don't have a problem with anyone dressing as a gangsta or a pantomime horse if they prefer. As long as they are delivering in their job. He is not plainly. I agree with the poster who says West Brom was a wake up call for him. He has realised his career as a professional footballer is at stake. His talent though is never in doubt and to be fair to him he has clearly (at last) made the effort. Nothing would give me more pleasure than for him to play this season regularly and play well hopefully helping Liverpool to win the title. None of us expected sturridge to be at Liverpool this season this is an unexpected bonus. Maybe he wants a new contract with Liverpool no matter how well he plays that can only be in a play as you play basis
This is more of the same. You haven't responded to a single thing anyone on here has said, you've just restated your grossly generalized statements of distaste again. We know you don't like that he makes a lot of money or what he wears. We know he's missed a lot of football. But you have given nothing to suggest why he should be treated differently than other players who got injured playing for us.
Have you read anything anyone has said besides yourself? You refuse to answer questions, and when someone refutes your point, you just say the same point over again, ignoring the counterargument. You're giving the impression that either you aren't reading (which is lazy and disrespectful if you are trying to argue with someone) or you are incapable of cogent discourse.
The comments on unprofessionalism have zero basis in fact. He kicks footballs into a net for a living. He doesn't do people's taxes. He wears his uniform at work and a suit at formal club events. What he wears when he is off work has zero bearing on his professionalism.
He was given a large wage because he was the top scorer at the club, and he got injured at the pinnacle of his career. He has wrecked his body rushing back too soon from injuries and has undergone surgery multiple times. No one has surgery to fake an injury, and no one turns down disability pay if they got injured working on the docks or in a factory. He has a very limited window to earn money as a footballer, and likely shorter than most given how his body has held together. Whether or not the club give him another contract or not is an entirely different discussion, but he is not cheating the club for accepting money from the contract he earned and both parties signed.
He isn't playing because all of a sudden he decided to try, he's playing because he's no longer suffering from the injuries he sustained while doing his job.
