Lovren stated after the WC that he knew he was injured after Crotia's game v Iceland but played on...so he played on for 4 games, 3 of which went to extra time - 2 of those went to penalties. Liverpool must punish him for this blatant scant disregard of club rules. There is also the fact that he has made this injury (which may need surgery) invalid via any insurance policy, so the club will have to foot the medical costs.
Very selfish action by Lovren even if it was the WC.

What rules are you referring to? And where are you getting this information? He's been carrying it for awhile from what Klopp said, and he was cleared for international duty by our medical personnel and theirs.

The one thing I find hard to believe is that it is reported he came back from the World Cup and was in severe pain, I would presume he would immediately report it to the club for treatment, the reports I have read appear that he didn't until he came back to the club a week ago, which is really stupid behavior if it's true.

It was a stomach injury he picked up whilst playing at the WC. He stated that he played through the pain barrier because he was representing Croatia at the WC and in his words "who wouldn't"! He failed to contact Liverpool's medical staff when he did the injury and then played a further 4 games. It wasn't until Lovren reported back from his extended holiday to Melwood that he then told Liverpool's medical staff about the injury.

Again, where are you getting this information and what rules are you referring to? Players play with injuries all the time, especially at international tournaments.

A selfish act by Lovren but also who is to say he hasn't done this on purpose knowing that Klopp may have brought in another CB in this window and thus potentially putting him down the pecking order!
This is bad because we are having to now rely on Gomez who has very little experience in the position for us and who also has a suspect injury history with us.

Yeah come on Pickles ,need some proof. May take a few weeks and a big fu from the club...but i'll request a freedom of information on Lovren's injury history! I'm only going from the media and what has been posted/printed.

I'm only going from the media and what has been posted/printed. Ok, where has it been posted or printed? Because it doens't match up with what Klopp himself is saying here. It sounds like conspiracy theories and blogpost ramblings without any evidence. https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/311772-jurgen-klopp-dejan-lovren-injury-liverpoolKlopp says it's a pelvic injury, not a stomach injury, and he was carrying it most of the year, but could play. So not sustained during the WC. He played a lot of minutes and aggravated it, but it was nothing we didn't know about already and Klopp sounds very calm and like he was perfectly aware of it, and it's not that serious. He was cleared for duty and had a great World Cup. So what you are claiming as fact contradicts on 3 counts with what the gaffer is saying. I have never heard of these mysterious team rules you are talking about, and there is nothing to indicate Lovren was dishonest about any of this.
