And your team would have jumped at the chance of signing him if they had been good enough. Absolutely pointless your team signing him as any relegation clause in his contract would be in danger of being triggered again.

Could probably get Schmeichel & Cillessen for same price and have them battle it out for our No1 spot!

I'd have gone for Schmeichel as well. Given his age, he might have been a little cheaper but given his pedigree, he might still be very expensive.

It is, but it's the going rate now for a top player, at 25 as a GK he could play for 10 years for us, so if it ends our problems at GK, it's money well spent. Look at it this way, if we get him at £62 million, we got him & Salah for £100 million from Roma, that's good business !

He seems to be consistently the one that Klopp has been after, it was reported we were talking to him in January when it first broke, so it's good we are going for our number 1 target and spending the money, rather than fudging it with our third or fourth choice at half the price.

The problem is RM are after a keeper and have been consistently linked with him, so he may want to hang on to see what happens there before he makes a move.
