Funny Hugo Lloris did the same thing as Karius in the World Cup final, but France went onto win the final, so he pretty much got away with it, fine lines......
Looks like we are back in for Alisson, prefer Oblak, but anyone must be better than the GK performances we have seen pre-season.

Nobody gives a hoot win the team wins. If we had won, it would have been seen as just a lapse of concentration instead of doubting his GK ability.

It MUST the absolute top priority. A poor goalkeeper was the difference between us winning the CL and coming runners up. A great goalkeeper was the difference between Man United finishing 2nd or coming 6th. We're in for an exciting season again no matter what happens, but if Karius or Mignolet are in goal we won't win anything - I'm certain of that. Some harsh realities there mate. But that is the difference in football at the top level these days. If we do not upgrade forget about City or United in the PL next season. A season long fight for 3rd or 4th from the outset will be a hard battle without a new keeper. It will only ever be a fight for the fourth spot each season anyway regardless what keeper we have between the sticks unless we are banking on an Istanbul or Leicester City miracle.... Us trying to become champions is about the same as your team trying to get in the CL, but, must say, was impressed with your keeper.

Hugo Loris made one howler in the whole tournament. Same goes for De Gea. However, they have both been excellent keepers for many seasons now so their mistakes are exceptions to the rule. Our ball-shy buffoon of a keeper made 2 massive howlers in 1 game and has been largely garbage since his arrival - his good performances are the exception to the rule!. People say he has the attributes to be a top keeper - I say he has the attributes to be a painter and decorator.

But you said that even with a new keeper we will only be able to fight for 4th and no higher. SO why bother? Save the money and have a nice holiday instead.

Save the money and have a nice holiday instead. where's the fun in that...when you pay your money and go to the game I feel your opinion carries more weight...I like my opinion wether people agree with it or not. We as s club will finish between fourth and seventh each season apart from an Istanbul style miracle. The club sets out financially to finish in between these places, if we can sneek in higher then great the club will take they however they will not gamble anymore of there own outlay chasing clubs far more wealthy and stronger...not part of the business plan... I don't think you'll be in top 4 Bluenose, mid table is where you belong

So I ask again. What is the point in getting a new keeper if we aren't going to finish any higher and are achieving all we will ever with Karius and our incompetent manager? I don't expect a sensible coherent answer but a few more contradictions in what you say would be good.

No it's not cleared it up at all. One minute we need a new keeper. The next we won't get higher than 4th regardless of the keeper (and incompetent manager) and the next we need a new keeper? I'm not sure if you can be anymore contradictory if you tried.
