What I don’t get if his knee was that bad why did we target him ? why is there a 50mil + price tag ? and why are we still open to sign him ?
if he goes bum at 50mil or 40mil is there much difference ?

Sounds like his knee isn't that bad atm, he's playing and is at the WC, but if the scan shows the knee is weak, or had a potential issue that could flare up, that's a big risk, especially how we play, where there's lots of pressing and running.

You cannot know the state of a players knee until you examine and X-ray it, we knew he'd been injured, but he's played a season, but if the scans have shown a potential problem, you can see why we called it off, or at least want to negotiate a deal to protect us, we've had enough crocks recently to be wary!

We wouldn’t have known any extent of the damage on his knee until we did a medical. That’s why we do them.

It's one thing being match fit. It's another to have a long career ahead.

If his knee is dodgy there's only one thing to do - and that's not to sign him - regardless of the fee!

Isn't that the beauty and luxury of being a fan though wilkij? The only shortcoming is we don't get paid...could a sustainable case be made for profit sharing with fans I wonder?

I'd rather Fleetwood Mac.

That job interview was going so well until I realized I was fukked up on acid in the middle of a cornfield naked and talking to a scarecrow.

Nothing really changes with our transfer tactics, very rarely there is not some sort of controversy or something that hinders what other clubs seem to always get right = a smooth negotiation and transfer. Our due diligence is appalling...we jump in head first instead of doing the fact finding before any negotiation.
I've never known a club who consistently [oops] transfers up as much as us.

We are the Mr Bean / Frank Spencer of the transfer negotiation world!

Due diligence is doing a medical. Pretty simple really.
