The most expensive City player is De Bruyn who was bought for 54m. I think the Neymar deal increased the prices because a huge sum was injected in the system, it was that same money that paid for Coutinho and then VVD. Don't think such transfers are sustainable unless there is as much injected again. However, PSG won't be able this summer because of FFP, they have been asked to sell first for 60m EUR. Maybe Real can as they haven't signed big lately

Neymar to PSG ruined the market. He goes for 200m and suddenly every decent player is worth 50m and even average players are now worth 30m.

We are either still well in for Fekir. Or completely dropped our interest and are looking elsewhere.

No one from either side has come out and said why the deal fell through.

The only thing I can think of as to why it fell through was either aulas restructured the deal in the hope we pull out and he has a great world cup.

Or he has a dodgy knee and we offered less upfront but more bonuses if he didn't die before his contract ended.

But for both team to be silent as to why it happened is odd.

Looks to me that we found something we didn't like during the medical and probably wanted to put some conditions based on non appearances due to potential knee injuries. Aulas told us to fk off as he wanted more money anyway and was being forced into deal by Fekir who he promised a transfer based on a target fee. We cannot say that Fekir has a problem with his knee as this would be unethical. Nothing odd there.

We really need to get rid of these off the payroll because they are not going to be seeing much to any time on the pitch for us going forward.

FSG need to cut their losses and take whatever they can get in transfer fees for them and allow Klopp to bring in better players to strengthen our depth.

I'm sure FSG would love them off the books, but who in their right mind is gonna give a contract for £120K a week to Sturridge? he's already reporting himself as ready for pre-season, he will sit out his fat contract with us.

We have a chance getting rid of players like Moreno, Migs, Markovic & Ings, as they have potential and want to play, so I can see them dropping down to smaller clubs, but we'll probably still have to subsidise their wages or give them a big payout to leave.

I can't see Lallana being sold, he's a good player and fits Klopps system, even if we did want to sell, no one will take him until he plays abit and proves himself after a season out.

Surprised Joe Allen has signed a new 4 year deal at Stoke, I expected he'd get a decent move back to the PL, good luck to him, he left to get more games rather than sitting on a big contract with us.
