If FSG are serious about being able to afford any player then we should be competing with the Manchester clubs and London Clubs to sign Bale this summer.
We saw first hand his ability in the final, I would suspect he would want to join us rather than play in the boring Man Utd team.
And it is about time we signed a world class player rather than potential, having the option to play 3 of Bale, Salah, Mane, Firmino with Keita reinforcing midfield, VVD in defence we would just be a goalkeeper short of favourites for the title.
But will they?

No way would I want bale great player world class even but he would break the bank not fit into Klopps system and injury prone and old. Let United waste their money on him

I like Bale, he was the player I feared in the final as I said in another thread.... but he would cost too much as a package and we cannot rely on getting 25+ games a season out of him, for that sort of money we need a 35+ game a season star, we're not City or Utd where we can afford to throw money at a player and not have them available.

He's world class; however, he's also approaching the twilight of his career and would cost far too much to bring him to Anfield. I'm sure there are younger, hungrier and equally talented players we can buy for the same price.

I'd go for Eden Hazard before Bale, he has years ahead of him and knows the PL and has won it, with Chelsea not in CL he might be interested, though he'd cost allot (wages), but he's class.
Rumour is City are after him, but I think he will goto RM if they can sell Bale.

Hazard is probably Madrid bound. We need a proper striker. After Salah was gone, we looked flat. Firmino is class, but he's more of an advanced forward than a striker.

I would say yes to Bale... definitely. Top class player with a great attitude. I think he'd well with Klopp.
I don't worry about the price. let the bean counters work it out. There are so many factors involved these day that our valuations aren't that meaningful. e.g. Bale may attract so much publicity, new sponsors, send shirt sales soaring etc.... such that financially the club might be able to afford it.

Just wondered if he didn't play or score, would we still be talking about him? He is more of a Jose type of signing, and plus we won't afford his wages of 350mil+.
