I think you are right Van. Although we are paying higher wages we will have had our fingers well and truly burnt with the Sturridge injuries and to a lesser financial degree with Lallana and Ings.

I wouldn't want him going to Scumchester and him playing well there although it would be funny if he went there and turned out to be shyte.

Just because he isn't injured right now it doesn't mean he will be fine for the long term future.

Either we won't touch him at all, or we will buy him for a lower fee than what Lyon initially wanted - or a performance based payment package will be set up.

If he ends up somewhere else I won't be too bothered. He hasn't set the WC on fire when he has come on either. Another hyped up player I'd say.

This. No one was really mentioning him before we went in for him and now it’s the end of the world.

From the various reports on Fekir's knee problems most state cartilage, if this is true then it's not that big of a deal.
As someone who has suffered knee problems for 20+ years cartilage problems can be fixed with very little recuperation time. I'd be concerned if the underlying problem for Fekir was anterior or medial cruciate ligament damage but I have not seen anybody mention this?

I think we will still pursue Fekir and current stories of Man Utd being after him are jiggery pokery to test our hand.

I think the Man Utd links are being created by agents and Lyon owners to generate interest, they know linking Utd will get the Liverpool fans attention, as it has!

So it's the Liverpool fans that will buy him? Too many conspiracy theories going around.

It puts pressure back on Liverpool as one of our key rivals are reported to be interested in Fekir, seems like Lyon are trying to get the deal back on, so we should be in a strong position to get the deal we want, lets see what happens.

I can see it being Julian Brandt and not Fekir.

Klopp wanted Brandt instead of Salah. Now he an have both.

Looks like we are in for Columbia's CB Mina, he's impressed me, Barca have to sell to bring any other non-European player in, he looks a good player, powerful, good on the ball, good in the air as England found out! I hope this rumour is true, but I can see allot of teams in for him after his WC performances, he'd be a good replacement for Matip and would challenge Lovren to partner VvD.

Signed for £10 million with a £100 million release clause sounds abit ambitious form Barca !!!

Usually dubious about players who shine at WC after Diouf etc, but he looks quality and moved to Barca in January, so he's not come from nowhere.

Yeah, I agree, there are worse problems than cartilage problems especially nowadays, so the whole thing is a bit weird and wonderful really, considering his knee injury was public knowledge before we went in for him.
