Neymar going to France hasn't made him a bad player but he may as well have gone to Scotland for all the competition there. And that's the problem. For me he's lost some credibility and will never get full credit for doing what he's doing in a massively un-competitve league.
Ronaldo going there is different as he's done evrything at the highest level already and is nearing the twilight of his career. It'd be one last big pay cheque for him and guaranteed success. Neymar didn't go there to win the French league which they have been doing without him. PSG wants to win the CL, this is why they are building such a team with the most expensive player and most expensive teenager. They will not stop there and that league will be comparable to the German league with one big team. Only difference is that Bayern has a much better history. City is doing it the same way. Neymar went there for money and to be the Bertie big Bollox as he was never going to do that with Messi and Suarez at Barca. He certainly didn't go there to win the ECL as he'd have a much better chance with Barca. I fully understand the reason for PSG to buy him but not his to go to a second rate league with no competition. He may as well gone to China. Some people like money, or rather, most people like money and leaving Barca for Real is quite complicated. PSG is among the top 3 most valuable team right now and on market value not price paid.

Doesn't matter what their value is. By going there Neymar isn't challenging himself and won't get to the level of Ronaldo or Messi because of that.
PSG might win the ECL but with no domestic competition they won't be used to that level of opposition and that will always put them on the back foot.

The general level in La Liga and PL has stiffened significantly since Marseille won, and Bundesliga is a tough league, even if Bayern München have more or less bought it.
Neymar wants out of Ligue 1, and that is because he knows the level is too low for him to prosper globally from there. Wouldn't surprise me if he turned up in Real Madrid come august.

I see United are after Nabil Fekir. Is it true we pulled out of a deal because he had an injury? He is doing ok at the world cup considering. Why does this sort of stuff happen year after year? Why do we struggle to get top players signed up quick-smart easy-peasy, bing-bang-bong?

He will still sign for us. We have decent negotiators now.

We didn't sign him because he has a dodgy knee.
Just because he isn't injured right now it doesn't mean he will be fine for the long term future.
Either we won't touch him at all, or we will buy him for a lower fee than what Lyon initially wanted - or a performance based payment package will be set up.
If he ends up somewhere else I won't be too bothered. He hasn't set the WC on fire when he has come on either. Another hyped up player I'd say.
