Sky interruptions the limit for Graeme Souness as pundit storms off set after Liverpool's win over Brighton

Graeme Souness walked off the set at the end of Liverpool's 4-0 over Brighton

Pundit was angered at the way the production team had handled his input

Souness felt he'd been cut off a number of times while he was still making a point

He was annoyed enough to leave with half an hour of the programme to run

The finale to the Premier League season was a more explosive affair in the Sky Sports TV booth at Anfield than it was on the pitch.

Sky's senior statesman pundit Graeme Souness walked off the set in a huff at the end of Liverpool's 4-0 win over Brighton in anger at the way the production team had handled his input.

It is believed perfectionist Souness felt he had been cut off a number of times while he was still making a point and was annoyed enough to leave with half an hour of the programme to run. As he left, Souness was heard to say: 'I don't need this. That's four times today you have shut me up.

Souness's seat alongside Thierry Henry was quickly filled by Gary Neville, who had been the co-commentator for the match.

A Sky spokesman said on Monday night: 'Graeme reacted badly to a directive to wrap up his comments before an ad break. But he has been in touch with the production team to apologise.'

Souness, who was unavailable for comment on Monday night, does not suffer fools gladly. He has been a Sky pundit on and off for more than 15 years but contracted for the last decade. Were this incident to have ramifications over his future at Sky, Souness would not be short of job offers such is his massive standing in the game.

Good for him. He still has that fire. My favorite player of all time he was. Its amazing that he is not so tall, but on pitch he was a giant and roamed the pitch like a collossus.
