He's a player who i feel could behave himself with the right guidance. Forget whether he's hard or not, he can play, he can be a leader and the fella has got passion.

And he'd be cheap

Some would argue that drink driving is a worse offence yet Jan Molby got 3 months for it. Some would say that hitting another player, knocking him out and breaking his jaw was a worse offence but Souness did it during a match.

I'm not perfect and therefore, i don't expect others to be. Perhaps you have higher expectations of people than i do.

Barton has had one allegation of racism against him which wasn't proved. Can't really accept that as an argument.

i have very high expectations of what a football club and it employees should represent... a club is about values.. thugs and rascists aren't it. talent, unfulfiled potential, and "he'd do a job" don't come into that argument. for the money they earn fans deserve role models who understand what it is to be a joe soap.

as for the other two, their offences are completely wrong, drink driving is never justified and you can't use molby doing it then just to justify buying a thug now. crazy logic.

and by the by joey barton wouldn't deserve to clean either of there boots in terms of talent.

So let me get this right; You can forgive Molby for putting lives at risk but you can't forgive Barton for beating some one up. You can forgive Souness for breaking some ones jaw during a match but can't forgive Barton for beating some one up during training.

And finally, you can play the racist card against Barton for an unproved allegation yet you post on a website owned by some one who's been accused of racism himself.

That isn't crazy logic, that's double standards my friend. If you don't like Barton as a person or you think he's cr@p then fine, that's a good enough argument. Contradictory arguments don't wash.

me talk tripe? there are two of you talking complete and utter bollox!! i am not even going to waste my time discussing this with people so completely clueless about the subject - ffs you don't even know anything about the countless allegations of racism and the cowardly and vicious attacks on team mates - mostly youth teamers or ones lying on the floor ...... the pair of you are talking complete and utter ignorant rubbish and you are wasting my time

like his family he is scum and should be nowhere near the club - and that is not even counting the fact that he is nowhere near good enough to play for the side ...... he is an average player with mental problems only an idiot would want to sign him ...... ffs even emp isn't insane enough to champion barton!!

2 things

1. i haven't said i forgive jan molby, only said he was more talented than joey barton and that using his crimes to justify barton's crimes as i see them is ridiculous. drink driving is unjustifiable, only heard about the molby thing now from you and i think less of him for it.

2. this isn't the day you should be talking about alledged rascism... even if you did put your hands up and apologise and get it removed. and no, that isn't me calling you a rascist.

Calm down Susan. Let's talk facts here and not embellish the truth, eh?

Barton beat up some fella in the street. Most of us have done a similar thing after a night on the tiles.

He beat up Ousmane Dabo who's 6'1'' and built like a brick outhouse. Sounds like a fair fight to me.

He stubbed a cigarette out in the face of a youth team player. This was done at a christmas party. Where as i can't claim to have done that before, i did wave me willy at a female colleague and lob a bottle at her husband at a christmas party. But drink makes us all do stupid things.

And racism; Agbongalor accused him of it but it was never proved.

If you can provide verifiable sources to any other instances then i'd be interested and might change my opinions. But i can't find anything about 'countless allegations', i can't find anything about team mates lying on the floor and i can't find anything about assaults on more than one youth team player.

I'd appreciate facts and sources, not hysterical rantings.
