Let's go forward 3 weeks ey?
CL final, and in the last minute we get a quite obviously incorrect penalty awarded to us, score, and lift the CL cup for the 6th time.
Dunno about you's lot, but I think I'd feel pretty damned sh1t tbh. I totally agree. I'm not aying Salah should dive and Klopp should ignore or support him. I'm just wondering whether there might be a better way to get the message through to him - one that doesn't involve his own manager acknowledging him as a having dived in the morning papers.

Out of every negative, comes a positive. Mane was booked for a clear dive a couple of weeks ago too, and has mysteriously been the best of the 'Tremendous Three' ever since. Just sayin' like. Being booked is by the ref is one thing. Having your manager say in public that 'Yes, he dived' is something else. But you are right.... if Salah takes it the right way then it could in the long run. It's like Klopp making a mistake and the players saying in good faith in an interview 'Yes, the boss cocked it up there... don't know why he played Lovren and Moreno together!'. Not gonna go down too well! Let's see how it pans out.

"It was a dive or he waited for the contact. I'm not sure," Klopp said. "That's not what I want to see, that's not what he wants to do. It happened."
I like that. Other managers follow suit please. Needs stamping out for good. Perhaps a red card in future may focus the minds a bit more?
Why should ANY cheating be classed as "OK" in ANY sport, anywhere, anytime.
I bloody hate it, and want to see any wins in any sports gained through pure skill and merit. That's always the way it should bbe.
I HATE lying, deceit, dishonesty in ALL and every situation in life, especially for personal gain and unjustified glory. AGGGHHH!!!

I would have preferred something like: to reporter: 'I haven't seen the replays yet so can't really comment. What I can say is that Mo is a fantastic and honest player. blah, blah , blah' Kind of defelect it and protect him. to Mo in private: 'Hey Mo, wtf was that? c'mon son.... you're better than that. You have so much talent and so much support from across the world you don't need to do that. You're also a role model for kids and you have a great future ahead of you. This sort of thing can ruin everything for you. c'mon... no more. agreed?'

Absolutely nothing wrong with what he said and I'm sure he had a private word before this went out too. Like you say, this needs stamping out and the more managers name and shame the better for the game. If the player don't like it then they can stop diving or fukk off, Salah included.

In an ideal world, I agree that there's nothing wrong. But if other managers aren't doing it... that's when we perhaps have to think hold on. We didn't see Porchetinno admit to Kane's dive against up and Lamella (i think) flopping to the ground uncessarily.... he was happy to go and big up the ref for 'brave' decicions etc.' If Klopp sets a new standard and others follow than that will be great. Let's see.

You just have to decide how you want to be. I'd rather us not win stuff than to win it by cheating.
I'm realistic to know that ALL players will dive/cheat to an extent but I definitely think that Klopp coming out and condemning it is the right thing regardless of who else follows suit.

I think we all agree how we want it to be. There's no debate there. I think the debate here is simply how we get there. If Salah reacts well then this could be a masterstroke by Klopp . Klopp and the club will also be seen leading the way to try to clean up the sport. If however it affects Salah's relationship with Klopp such that salah becomes withdrwan, feels the manager shamed him in public unecessarily etc.... and then the rest of the sport does nothing about diving and carries merrly along.... well then it could be very costly for us. Only time will tell how this pans out. Hopefully the story simply won't develop, Salah stops diving, scores a hat-trick next week and we're back on track for a great season.

He can save the hat trick for the CL finals. A 1-0 win against Brighton will do nicely.

So, do you reckon that 'doing absolutely nowt, other than let CHEATING, yes, CHEATING just bumble along , as though it's almost cool and ok to do so, is acceptable? If our Mo boy wants to get a titty lip on....no one is confirming this will be the case btw....then so be it as far as I'm concerned. Didn't really affect our Luis when he was banned for his nibbling escapades did it?
