22 years, we'll most likely never see a premier league last even half that long again. I've seen a lot of Arsenal fans are over the moon with the news (tbf they've waited long enough) but I wanted to know what you all think. Not bothered? Sad to see him go? Afraid that Arsenal might be challengers for a change?

Personally, I think that the decision was long overdue but am still a little nostalgic about such a mainstay of the premier league leaving.Also im a little worried about the Arse next season depending on who they bring in. All the best Arsene

I hope Assnal don't appoint Tuchel and opt for Ancelloti , thats all I care about.

My concern is that Arsenal will become serious challengers again, under Wenger they were plodding along and nothing was going to change, they were gradually deteriorating and not really a threat to us/Top 4.

They may get a good manager in, if he is allowed to spend big and he may rejuvenate the club, or the next manager may struggle taking over from Wenger, like Moyes did after Fergy, I think that's likely as I think they will struggle to get a top drawer manager like a Simeone or Tuchel, the squad isn't very strong and without CL they will struggle to attract a top manager/players, the Athletico game and winning Europa League is key to them.

Wenger changed English football, his first 10 years were amazing, but he lost his way and Arsenal would not get rid of a hero, best he go's now (should have been a few years ago), I hope the fans show him the respect he deserves now.

I remember 'The Invincibles' in 2003, great team. He should've left a few years ago, I wonder if he thought it'd be easier to win the league with Fergie gone.
They will get a top manager in to replace him and next season we'll be back to 6 teams competing for top 4. But now at least we are one of the strongest in that 6.

Thought about using it but it just doesn't make grammatical sense.

On another note apparently Brendan Rodgers is favourite to be next Gooners boss.

I think Rodgers would be a good appointment, but I just think they will want a bigger name, especially after having Wenger so long, If I was Arsenal I'd go all out for Simeone.

Rodgers must be getting bored at Celtic, he can't do much more there as he's winning the league and cups all the time and he hasn't got the platform to challenge in Europe.

I feel the same, i think he kind of outstayed his welcome with Arsenal fans to a certain extent but that doesn't detract from the fact that he changed the game over here and he'll go down as one of the leagues greatest ever managers. It's shame that managers don't ever get the time to build a team these days like he did and maybe the fact that he stuck to his ideals was ultimately why the last few years have been a failure for him.

He has done a lot for that club and the league. Did he stay too long? Maybe, but he's the most successful manager they ever had. Won loads of trophies, even in his supposed "decline."

Has it been good enough lately? No, especially on the European front. To have been in and about as long as he has, refusing to spend money, and just rolling over and playing dead in the CL is an embarrassment. Interesting to see where they go. Their fall from grace will begin to look like ours did if Atletico knock them out.
