KopTalk.com Forums Football Liverpool FC Forum Matip gone for season..

Lovren is starting? God help us. Lads, let us all pray... Dear God, please grant Dejan Lovren the powers of a real centre back which he is currently lacking, including a brain, some speed, the ability to time a tackle, to be strong and win challenges on the ground and 'lo also in the air, and to be able to pass-eth the ball to a player in a red shirt... Oh also God, please grant him the ability NOT to foolishly foul players within striking distance of out goal.

A-men.

Matip is a good deputy for VVD, and I think he'll need to be relegated to that. We need a partner for him.

I think Klopp wants Gomez to partner VvD, so Matip & Lovrn will play the next season or so until he is ready, then they are cover, or moved on, I'd be surprised if we bought another CB, as Klopp won't want to block Gomez path, I can see us selling Lovren or Klavan, if anyone wants them.

That would be very like him, and I would love to see it happen. I'm just afraid he won't be ready to be first choice in a title-challenging team. But Klopp has done wonders with Trent and Robbo, so what do I know.
