If the rest of his season was to be anything like his performance against Palace, then I can honestly say he won't be missed.

His injury means we'll need to rely on Lovren, and we all know that he can't be relied on.

It's a huge opportunity now for Lovren to put his previous nightmare performances behind him. Maybe him and VVD can strike up a great understanding and solidify us defensively? This is probably going to make or break Lovren's future with us, if he does well Klopp will only look to recruit a backup CB in the summer with the likes of Klavan's days numbered. I hope he does well because it'll mean we can concentrate on spending the lions share of any summer transfer money on a Goalkeeper and midfield.
Don't fukkkk it up Dejan!

I'd like to think that VVD can control Lovren and help him become an half decent CB. The one thing we've been missing at the back since Hyypia left is a leader in the defence, somebody who can bark at his team mates and let them know what is going on around them. VVD has those attributes and Lovren before his personal problems wasn't that bad. If he puts all that behind him and settles down, I don't see why he can't make the position alongside VVD, his. I'm willing to get behind the lad for the greater good...Moreno & Mignolet however...

How many times have we said that about Lovren. The fact is there is always a mistake in him. Even if by some miracle we get past City we're still relying on Lovren not to make a mistake between now and the end of the CL... I'm a big supporter of Klopp but I give criticism where criticism is due. Lovren has blown too many chances now, the fact we're still relying on him is down to the manager. He isnt good enough simple as. Klopp bought a CB for 75m so can't be blamed for not investing in a CB. He cannot change the whole team. The only question I could have if we should have bought 2 CB for 75m.

We have a few players who get injured too frequently, need to sort this [oops] out. Hendo and Lallana come to mind, and now this.

Lovren is a top defender. If he's fully fit I don't think Matip would play.
If Lovren plays, he'll give a top performance tomorrow.

If Lovren plays, he'll give a top performance tomorrow. Same as he did against United or Spurs?
