That actually surprises me reading that. Maddock and Purslow are mates.

Jovanovic will shine for Liverpool, believes Vidic

Nemanja Vidic backed his Serbia team-mate Milan Jovanovic to be a hit in the Premier League.

Jovanovic, scorer of the winner against Germany, will join Liverpool from Standard Liege after the World Cup.

And Manchester United defender Vidic believes he will be an asset to the Reds.

"The most important thing for him is to be physically fit," said Vidic.

"He's a player with a lot of ability and real quality. If he is fit he can be even better. I think they're looking forward to him coming to Liverpool.

"He's physically strong but he didn't play that many games last season.

"He missed some games and training, which is why I said that if he's fit and training all the time, he'll be even better.

"I look forward to playing against him in the Premier League next year."

I have to admit I don't know a lot about him. Anyone here know if he will be suited to the prem and how do think he will do?

yea, but who knows what's true and what's not regarding everything we hear about purslow etc.

there's a hate-campaign out there against him and they're blaming him for everything. actually he was a decisive factor in the return of kenny last year...

He is stron, tall very fast for his height. Can keep the ball well. Can play left wing as well as attack, can play behind the striker or as the striker. Very versatile in positions able to play. Not scared of getting stuck in either.

any manager before we get beat by bloody dundalk or "lithuania wednesday" in the qualifying round of the feckin europa in about 4 weeks would be nice... going out of that worthless cup at round zero, that'd be the icing on the cake
