The lad has a rare fire in his blood and I wish he had been a success at Liverpool. We could use a man like him if he has found some balance in his temper.

I always thought he was let go a little early, he had ability and got goals, but he could be an idiot and be sent off also, but I did like that passion in him, the having a pop at Fergy was classic, probably best for us he is out today.

Rafa is very good tactically, so will be interesting to see what he does, we need to play our strongest team.

--------- Karius

TAA -- Matip -- VvD -- Roberson

Ox -- Can -- Henderson

Salah -- Firmino -- Mane

Not sure how Lallana is fitness wise, I expect he may come off the bench.

Same team as against West Ham and hopefully the same result!

I hear Milner is doubtful though which is a shame.

Yeah, I thought Milner was brilliant last game, MOM for me in fact, so it's a pity if he's not fit today. Anyway we need to find a way of unlocking Rafa's defence and it's not a given. Creativity will be needed and we need the midfield to step up and pick out some piercing passes. An early goal would be priceless. Anyway I'm going for 3 good goals and a clean plate! Sorry Rafa...

Milner took abit of a beating in the last game, so I presumed he'd be rested today and maybe get a run out against Porto, his experience will be valuable in that game, especially if we give some on the younger fringe players like Solanke & Woodburn a game.

Can is also on 9 yellows, so 1 more and he misses the Utd game, so he may leave Can out, as Newcastle will be defending most of the game, an attacking 6 of:

Ox --- Henderson --- Lallana

Salah --- Firmino --- Mane

might be interesting, 4-1 win.

I don't think it'll be that emotion at all tbh. I mean rafas been gone ages now and its not like it's the first time he's come back. On top of that, none of the current squad were there in rafas time. 3-0 to the reds

Pete: Berg, I'm just not cut out to be a good person.
Berg: I know. That's why the Lord gave us good looks.

Not at our best today, anyway the three points secured and that is the main thing at this stage. They defended well as you'd expect from a Rafa side, and that kept the score down. Karius had one really difficult save to make, and he made it brilliantly, so who knows, we might have a keeper in there somewhere! Well done Klopp & lads.

Just back in from game bitter cold at anfield and Aldi crispy duck in oven.

Great win great overall performance the two full backs were outstanding and karius showing real promise. Salah as per normal. Henderson did well too. However my MOM was the Ox he is far more than a squad player he could be good for us he is developing all the time

Good evaluation Stan.

Thought the same.

The 2 young fullbacks were everywhere - in a good sense that is!

Ox turned up everywhere where there was something going on.

Karius looked sharp and reassured at the back.

Salah is class, and Mané is coming back to his standard from last year!

Firmino working well as usual. Nice pass for the 2:nd goal!

Hendo a bit too pedestrian and sideways passing for my liking. But it worked out in the end.
