i read a suggestion by someone before that the FA should introduce the format of VAR the same as its used in tennis. in tennis, each player gets a balance 3 video calls per game.

if the player questions a split decision by video ref and the player is right...they retain their 3 calls. if they are wrong, they lose a call and have 2 left and so on.

if FA did that with managers (on a trial basis), it would put the responsibility on the manager to decide if he believes strongly enough to go to VAR for a decision. it would stop the F**king endless moaning out of managers (like moaninho and arsene) during games. managers would want to keep the 3 calls for VAR for serious incidents like pens/red cards etc instead of moaning about every decision. it would mean a limited amount of video stoppages per game

I can't see why the TV feed cant just be used to replay an incident straight away. Throw it up immediately on the big screen in slow motion from 3 angles and make a call there and then. The current system is just too clumsy and too long. Or the ref has a ph-ablet that he can use for personal viewing.

Nothing wrong with the current version of VAR. they just need to restrict the use to red card, offside goal and penalty decisions. How many of such incidents in a game on average? Less than a handful

Was watching the incidents again yesterday on sky sports with their analysis and with VAR their second goal would not have stood as their player was marginally offside.

Joke cos he had to ask the lineman and 4th official. Don’t referees always say that if unsure, they can’t give it?

He was sure it was a penalty until his linesman called him to talk about the offside. Anyway, is it not better as it is the right decision?

he was in line with the defender do the decision change a few years ago deemed the benefit must go to the attacker. Lovren deliberately played the ball for the first one it was intent....Kane was offside all the way when the ball was played through but as soon as Lovren made contact it brought Harry back inside, bit like a short back pass when the player is offside...thought the penalty last night was a bit similar to Spurs first where the goalkeepers shoulder made contact with the player trailing leg...deffo penalty tho...

No he was not in line but marginally ahead, it's quite clear on tv/camera.

It's based on what can be seen on the tv/camera snapshot, this is what VAR uses, so we were unlucky same as your team against Aubameyang
