I thought the first pen was onside as it came off Lovren as the final touch before Kane ran on, I don't understand this, Kane gained an advantage by being in an offside position. When the ball was played to him he's clearly offside, the deflection off Lovren is irrelevant as he's offside in the first place. As Van Gogh says, It's like a striker intercepting a backpass from a defender to the GK, if the opposition player plays the ball to the attacker, he is not offside, even if he was not playing the ball intentionally, it came off Lovren last. Completely different, Eriksen tried to pass the ball through to Kane, who is offside when the pass is attempted. The deflection of Lovren is irrelevant because he's gained an advantage by being in an offside position. Dier passed the ball directly to Salah for our first goal so the correct decision was made, there are clear differences between the two instances.

Lamela jumped in and actually impeded VvD from clearing. Foul no?
Any case. The pen decisions isn’t going to be reversed. Take it on the chin and respond positively...

Another issues for the last penalty decision.
The ref clearly waved away the complaints of Spurs players for a penalty. Then, we were on our counter attack and the ref just stopped the play. He havent made up his mind for his decision yet and it appeared that he went and discussed with the lineman before reaching his final decision.
My question is, is this allowed in the rule? Can a ref stop an open play to discuss with other officials for the matters? I didnt remember there are a lot of incidents that can be stopped and discussed like that before. And I tried to find it in the rule book and it just clearly said that the ref has power to stop an open play if there was a serious injury and there are outside interference. It seems to me that no rule allow an official to stop an open play in order to clarify his decision.
It would be great if anyone who is more familiar with the rule can explain it thoroughly. If he is called by his assistant who saw something he can stop the game. In fact his assistant waved foul immediately but the refree didn't notice. Really? I tried to search in the rule book and it said that the ref can stop an open play if the players had serious injuries or there are outside interference. So if there are something the ref wants to discuss with the linesman, then he can stop the game and discuss? The assistant waived foul which the refree didn't notice, so he was called by his assistant. He didn't stop to discuss but to give a penalty for a foul his linesman saw. What's difficult to understand, you are the only one seeing something there. No! the ref is closer to the incident he clearly indicated there is no foul after the incident. The ball is still on open play and we started our counter. The ref realised the linesman waived his flag and then he stopped the open play. He didnt make his decision yet. He didnt point to the penalty box at the time he stopped the game. Alternatively, he stopped the game and went to the linesman and discussed about the matter and finally decided to give a peno. If this is going to be work and legal, the ref can stop the game every time when the linesman waive flag and discussed with him whether are fouls or offside.

2 penalties, like it or not, rightly or wrongly, I no longer give one solitary single tiny fraction of a fck, as absolutely NOTHING is going to change now. These contentious decisions happen EVERY weekend, on grounds all over the country, so suck it up, and let's stop wasting breath on a now totally irrelevant discussion, and move on.

The frightening thing is there are people on this forum who still don't understand the rules of the game...both cast iron penalties.
God Almighty from above.
The expert and messiah of ALL things everything related has spoken....unfortunately....so there we have it.
May as well just have him on here as the only member of this rapidly fading forum...as the gaffer is clearly not going to remove him/her when he/she re-appeared....as was promised last time........spouting his usual self opinionated drivel and 'factual' lousy opinions

The frightening thing is there are people on this forum who still don't understand the rules of the game...both cast iron penalties...they weren't even close decisions. The first one Lovren deffo made contact with the ball before it found its way to Harry, the second is just rank bad defending from VVD who kicked the player high up on the back of his leg because he lost his co-ordination.... Are you the 'joey barton' of the forum? You just say any old contrary garbage in an attempt to wind people up, and its getting quite tiresome!

Appreciate the correction. Sadly, it won't make one iota of a difference, and will all go right over his thick big head unfortunately.
