We should have got the second goal when we had breakaways, both in the first and second half. Salah was guilty of picking the wrong pass on at least two occasions which would have led to clear chances. It's difficult to criticise him though for obvious reasons. Someone like Coutinho would have had a field day in playing through balls today but none of our midfield have the vision to do it.

I didn't understand any of the subs, least of all taking Milner and Hendo off. Oxlade-Chamberlain was terrible and to blame for Wanyama's goal and Wijnaldum, well, did he even touch the ball? He was playing in his invisibility coat again.

Can't understand why he even makes the bench. Terrible player as he's so inconsistent (mainly bad this season).

our midfield is absolutely diabolical. I have said it a million times, wijnaldum literally is so backwards; it is no coincidence he has been dropped. Always turning around and passing back instead of looking forward.

Was buzzing with the ox after the city game but my friends that support arsenal continued to tell me that those performances are sparse when it comes to him. Today he came on, both his 'clearances' were fkin awful, and actually put us back in dangerous play. He is so dead average.

We need 2 more midfielders bought in excluding keita; a left back, a gk of course and maybe a few more positions.

I don't think our midfield is that bad. The problem I see is that nearly all our midfielders are the same type of midfielder. And out of all them Emre Can is probably the best so it's going to be a blow if he goes.

I'd agree with that. But Can is litterally the best of a bad bunch. (I seem to be the only one who likes wijnaldum tho)

Yeah, Lallana would have suited todays game as he would have had the space and ability to play the ball through, a few times we were in good positions but the final ball was poor, Mane & Salah did that a few times, this is where we miss Coutinho who would have ran riot in that first half with space movement and space we created.

The midfield discrepancy btw us and spurs was just ridiculous today. Henderson Milner Can just arent good enough for where we want to be. In the second half those 3 didnt get anywhere near the ball while spurs just played us off the park.

The manner of which we conceded the penalty was disappointing but based on play we were lucky we didnt end up getting battered. We need to buck up start getting some wins in as spurs look in great form at the moment.

I think it is somehow our front three failed to organise counter attackers cost us the game. With the spaces of Spurs in the defence, I believe our front three could do a lot better in a few occasions.

I wouldnt say we outplayed them in the 1st half... just that they were moving the ball slowly and when we got back possession we went really direct so we caught them out with our pace on a couple of occassions.

The possession in the 1st half was 61% to spurs which meant they were winning and keeping the ball far better than us, alot of it due to midfield. Your point about the front three is definitely valid though, firmino and mane were poor today. While I still give milner and hendo a 6 mainly for their effort and work rate, on this showing it is clear that they are too pedestrian and not good enough
