I’m talking about teams who we traditionally struggle against and who park the bus. But anyway, the simple fact is, despite the loss on Monday, we’ve been better against such teams this season. You’re basing your assumption that we’re not just on the fact that we lost to the bottom club which is a little silly and I thought you were smarter than that? Most teams end up parking the bus against us except City, Arsenal and maybe Chelsea because of our high possession football. The teams we should beat are those at the bottom. This season we have been better against the mid table teams, worse against the top 6 teams and probably worse so far (or about the same) against those in the relegation zone. Overall we have only 1 point more than last season after 24 games. So I don't see great progress. You thought right, I am smarter than what you think now. We've beaten both Swansea and Southampton this season and the only current bottom three team we haven't is West Brom who we dreww with. We've also beaten Stoke and Brighton who are just one point off the drop zone and drew with Newcastle who are in the same position. We've beaten Huddersfield who are pne point better off and we've beaten Palace and Bournemouth who are just another point higher. If you go up to 10th place which is just 4 points better off than the relegation places, we've beaten West Ham and drawn against Watford. We could even count Everton as being in the relegation fight as they're only another 2 points better off. So, from the 12 games we've played against the bottom half teams, all who could struggle to stay up, we've won 8 drawn 3 and lost 1. That's a return of 27 points which isn't that bad considering you have us as being one of the worst teams against the lower teams. So your way of looking at this is there are the top 6 teams and then the bottom rest, right? Well if we have been worse within the top 6 but are 1 point better, then yes we have been better against the bottom rest. Overall, we are not much better though. For me, lower teams are much lower than 6th and are actually in the relegation zone. If cannot beat such teams, we have a major problem.

You were saying that we're not good against the lower teams which hasn't been the case this season. I've counted all the teams I have as because at one point or another they've been in or around the relegation zone on points. To take a snapshot of three teams at this point is pretty irrelevant as you have to look at how we've performed against those teams regardless of where they are/were at any given time. Lets take the draw against West Brom. They were 17th when we played them so outside of the relegation zone so by your logic that result doesn't count as at the time they weren't a relegation team. Southampton were 14th when we beat them so maybe they don't count either as they were middling at the time. So I'm still struggling to see how you can keep saying we've not been good against such teams?

Losing against the bottom team and drawing against the WBA at home to me means we haven't been good, or maybe not good enough. It's all relative, if we would have been bad against all those teams we would be close to relegation zone or in it, this is not my reference/standard. What I am saying is that we should beat the bottom clubs otherwise we are not good. I am not sure what you are saying, is it that we have won a majority of games against them, therefore we have been good? According to me we should expect to beat them anyway.

But West Brom weren't in the rlegation zone when we drew with them. This is why just looking at those three teams in the rlegation zone at this time is pointless. The perception is that we don't beat these sort of teams, the ones that 'park the bus' when the reality is, this season anyway, in the main we have. It isn't good losing to the team at the bottom, far from it. But it shoul;dn't be the measure fo how we perform against all lower teams which is what it seems to be being used for.

Of course we do beat those teams but we also draw and lose. Yes other teams as well, but I would say we do it more than the other top 4 teams. We have improved compared to last year, but have also not been as good against the top 6. I think it sums all this up and out points total sums it up even more as the progress so far has been 1 point.

Serious question Did we lose to relo fodder in season 2014 when Suarez was on fire ? From what I have looked up we seemed to be putting lower teams and higher teams to the sword ! I believe we’re a better team now in all but one area, top class striker and I think that is a big issue for us it’s 2018 and we still havnt replaced Suarez ! 75 mil for him 142 mil for couts around 217 mil Hull. I think that’s the only one but you get what I’m saying re a striker tho Also that was sturridges best season and he was out that game ! ? What you're asying doesn't make much sense when you consider we've only lost once to relegation fodder and drawn with a few others.

Basically says since Suarez left we’re not as good in that department scoring going off those figs online The last player scoring more than 30 in the league was Suarez so nothing to prove there. Maybe Salah this season.
