This is probably going to be one of my final posts under this name before I get reported of Dunk sees am back on so sod it I will tell you what I think regardless.
I honestly feel for fans like Stanley who have the belief that Liverpool
Are still the same mythical club they were back in the 70s and 80s, you know why...coz I was one of them.
The same fall from grace we are having now is exactly the same one as Forest, Leeds, Everton and Villa had before us, it' doesn't happen straight away it's a trickle, the trophies become one every two years, then one in five or one in twelve like ours then you get to Everton none in nearly 25 years. The league titles go the same Villa last won it 35 years ago, Leeds 26 years, Liverpool 28, Everton 31 and Spurs nearly 60 years ago. If you ask fans of any of those Clubs now they. Will tell you they don't expect to win a league and deep down they know the footballing landscape has changed to the point they won't win the league again or get back to the top.
Before anybody says we haven't dropped that low...I know that, but like I say it's a gradual thing, like a trickle but that's the way we are heading. The big problem we had stems from when SKY took over, we had only won the league three seasons earlier so as a club still had momentum, we never spent the required funds, Dalglish was the wrong manager to take us forward and the club infirastructure was well behind the other clubs, we had a caravan selling rosettes in the1980s while Everton and United had superstores, anybody who went to Barnsley in an FA Cup game back at the time will tell you their Club shops was three times as big as ours and we had won three European Cups.
The SKY taking over was the time to really go for it we never, United did and they got there success at exactly the right time and have never looked back since, they invested in the team and stadium.
Like I say I am probably going to be banned anyway so why not talk about a subject close to my heart....Out Of Towners..
Remember watching the News a couple of years ago and the report was on a school in Leeds, at break time it showed the kids wearing their football tops and there was Leeds tops but also City ones with Aguero and Silva and United ones with Rooney, I nearly fell off my seat, this is Leeds a footballing hotbed and you have hound up and coming Leeds kids turning their backs on the local club, one of the biggest in their day to support a team from a rival City...Manchester the rivalry between Leeds and United is as fierce as ours.
I think of all the Clubs over the next 10 years who will go out of business because the local fans and lifeblood of any club have decided to turn their backs on them and instead attach themselves to famous more glamorous clubs. I am closely watching Tranmere, I fear for them I really do, years ago they played home games on a Friday night so the same fans could go and watch Liverpool or Everton the next day, they got good attendances those Friday night games too, once Everton and Liverpool raised there prices fans couldn't do both so the attendebces started to drop, Tranmere sunk and have now dropped out of the League.
The question I always ask and to this day I have never got an answer to is what would happen to all the Clubs below the Premiership if all fans find what most Liverpool, United, City and Chelsea fans do which is pick them to support because there local one isn't good enough? Believe me there's will be some famous clubs going busy in the next 10 years or so mark my words....
Anyway going to leave it there' for now so hope you have enjoyed my little post and I hope it has made some of you think a bit about things......
I await being insulted or having my post picked holes in or Dunk banning me, which happens first I really don't know haha... Tea or coffee, I tend to drift between the two.

I find it hard to put it into words there is just something missing. I don't want to go on a mad spending spree but I would like to see some statement of intent the club simply seems to be broadly maintaining where we are albeit there are some good signs lately Klopp is building something. But that us in despite of not because of. But the worrying thing is not the club but fellow Liverpool supporters who seem to have drifted into mild acceptance. 5 years from now where do you see the club ? Pretty sure if we ended up right where we are now there would be acceptance of it. The dawn of the pragmatists is with us. If you look at City as an example, you would say they have ambition wouldn't you? But the 'ambition' they have shown has only been possible because they have a whole countries money behind them and were gifted a stadium. If we had their owners and we had gone on a spending spree you would think we have ambition I suspect? So the something missing is a bucket load of money. This is exactly my point you say we are second best because we have no money and that's the end of the story I say why do we have no money ? Thank you I was struggling to quantitfy what I was thinking you have helped

And before Vish comes on and tells us there is no one on the whole planet is interested in LFC even if that were true we don't have to like it

We have the right manager and general set up, albeit poor owners with a lack of care or passion of the football club. Just take our net spend over the years for instance, we are amongst the likes of Swansea, whilst Man city and Man Utd dominate. Until FSG sell, this will only continue; the best we can hope for in these dire times is a league or fa cup. Do you really think we have the quantity and quality to challenge for the league or UCL. We have literally let our best player leave mid season with seemingly no back up plan. Alongside that we aren't a staple in the top 4 and we have got a favourable draw in the UCL, but yet again the $$ show and John Henry quickly grabs at it! Where are you Wilks and Shaggy??? Hysteria alert! He's not opened 20 threads since the weekend and constantly claimed in said threads that everyone's price has now gone up by £50m. I do believe he's a new poster... albeit his opening thread has a familiar ring to it. What he's done or claimed since the weekend is all conjecture... I wish FSG were as obsessed with liverpool as you are with me. I literally registered today, and everything I have said had been nothing short of fact; your statements should be coupled with the term 'conjecture' in any case.

But you're being.... pragmatic.... and that's what SP's post is railing against... What else can we be? For all their complaining, I don't see any direct action against the owners so in a way and despite the moaning, they're also being pragmatic. He also says he doesn't want the thing that would mean we're showing ambition so I'm not sure what he wants.
