Tommy Lawrence, was a great keeper in the early years of Shanks revolution. He frightened opponents and his own fans alike by coming off his line to rush at oncoming attackers, no other keeper did that before him, so he was a pioneer as well as being great.
RIP Tommy, you were an inspiration.

He apparently kept Clemence out from the team for almost 2 years!

I remember him well the flying pig was a joke the kop made up but he was nothing like that he was very agile and one of the best keepers we have ever had clemence was his understudy and he did not turn out too bad did he ?

Liverpool were one or if not the biggest spending club in that time remember alun Evans ? Not only did we spend more we were smarter albeit alun was not the best decision we made but overall we had it then. Certaintly Tommy was one of the best keepers in the league pity we can't say that now
