I wouldn't really judge him by his Madrid job. I don't think he had much say in who was bought in as a lot of the players were already there when he got the job. The Madrid manager is only a public face in my view and the president probably told him who to pick. I wonder how Mourinho will work there? He was just unlucky that Barca were so good last year too.

Football is football, you will never win every game, that 75% win ratio is only the wins..

48 played 36 wins 5 drawn 7 lose

he lost less than 10 games in a whole season. ok, he never won 12 games and got a perfect season but come on... thats amazing.

Harsh, maybe. But that's only because I want the absolute best manager we can get and not spend the next 5 years, should he not be a success, on a Chav like managerial merry-go-round.

I know our current plight has a massive bearing on who would accept the job, but we already have a man who knows Liverpool inside out. A man who is well aware of what the fans demand from the team. A man with a superb record when it comes to buying quality players (ok, Jimmy Carter being an exception). A man who knows & has tasted success on many fronts. And a man who 'desperately' wants the job.

Hand the reigns to Kenny & bring in a top european coach to work under him.

I think the results he got with tha madrid squad where amazing!

One it's the highest amount of points real Madrids ever got in a season! It would of won the league any other season if barcelona were'nt a freak show!

Two. It's all well and good having the best players in the world! But you've gotta be able to keep them happy! and deal with the egos and build a formation to suit!

He clearly did great job! Can he do the job at Liverpool? Thats a tough one.

Benitez had good pedigree as well! Winning the Spanish league twice! Was he successfull in the premier league ? Probably not! In Europe? Yeah sure.

name one South American Coach that has been successful in the Premier league?

What weird logic. Well Sampdoria turned inter Milan over in a league game last season and they are probably worse than Lyon. Guess that makes Moron-io a poor manager too. smirk Everyone loses a couple of games now and then regardless of how good they are.

He from Chilli i think, not spain, although he managers in Spain.

Im unsure on him, He seems like he had a good run with Villreal and Real mad, but look at the players he had...He could be coming here with nothing but Lucas and Reira, That'll be some hard work!
That said tho, id take him over Hodgson.

well he didn't have great players at villareal did he? he managed to get the best out of them, led them to their best ever finish in the league (2nd) and also to a cl semi-final.

at real he got 96 points in his first season (club record) but i know trophies is all that matters in the end but he did a good job getting all those mega stars performing the way they did. he seems to be well liked by the players as well. sergio ramos said a few weeks ago he didn't want him to leave...

i think he can attract good players to anfield and hopefully he can use his connections to sign some players from the very exciting chile team (alexis sanchez!)
