They still own the club. They can't interfere with negotiations made by the board but they can still turn down any bids that they so wish.

RBS can claim the club back if they reject perfectly good bids and will if they don't make payments. However, if Hicks sells players to service the debt, RBS will not panic/act.

£100m for Gerrard, Torres and Mascherano... £70m to RBS, £30m to the new manager... see what I mean smile

If they asset strip the club just to service some of the debt, it would surely dramatically reduce the value of the club (they are already asking too much). I know they are greedy and want as much as they can get but i'm sure they're not stupid and asset stripping is in my book stupid if you are trying to sell what you are stripping.

Its like asking £10k for a car thats worth £8k then selling the wheels for £2k and still expecting £8k for it with no wheels. The car will still work but won't go anywhere. Doesn't make sense to me. I don't see how they can't see this? Are they that blinded by greed?

Asset stripping is only worth it if the sum of the individual parts worth more than the asset itself. Agreed.

Does anyone know how long the current loan deal to the Liars lasts ?

RBS won't do anything until then unless we start to sell the likes of Torres & Gerrard - they may then consider this to be devaluing the asset and step in.

I believe Hicks will continue to live in cloud cuckoo land until he is forced by the banks to sell - when they call in the debt.

I believe the liars will sell the club before we go into administration as they would loose the £100m + Interest £100m they have loaned to the club if this were to happen.

I just emailed RBS the following...

Dear Sir/madam,

With regards to LIverpool FC, I think you should be aware that the backlash towards RBS will be tremendous if the bank (owned by the taxpayer) does not ensure the future of the club is secure and in 'responsible' hands.

If the bank merely intends to earn money off the current owners as the club (a national treasure) slides into mediocracy, this would be extremely short-sighted of the bank and will lead to commercial problems mid-term, one can probably assume.

Also, if news appears in the press that 'perfect' potential owners for the club have been rejected by the owners, while RBS does nothing about it, again that will lead to extremely negative coverage of RBS in the media going forward. Protests towards RBS are already not far away, I detect.

Thanks for reading my (and millions of Liverpool supporters') views.

I look forward to hearing from you.

I will post their reply if I get one...

wrote something similar myself a few months ago and had a reply yesterday. You could read it but someone has taken the topic off the forum.

Agree. But they aren't. The only marketable players we have will only fetch about £100m. That will keep the yanks here for another year say but then what happens to the value or asking price for the club? It certainly won't be worth the same but the greedy w@nkers will probably ask for the same.

They have to realise that these offers will be their best way out and the best way for everyone. They can have their profit and walk away. If they start stripping the assets we will be even less successful which will mean less money from competitions and the value of the club will plummet.
