in my own opinion the failure of benitez broke him. 6 years played out of position with poor players and no premiership medal to show for it. he needs something fresh.
thats the problem with todays football tho aint it? kidso n the street would give up everything to play for liverpool and everybody wants to win trophies but playing for liverpool doesnt matter if you have played for us for 10 years should be more important if you are a liverpool fan and love the club, look at alan shearer he could of went to man utd won the prem multiple times but no he went to the club he loves.

benitez has played a big part in the gerrard we know...

gerrard wasnt wht he is now under houllier...

benitez put him centre, right, and finally turned him to a brillant attacker off the main striker...

how many goals was gerrard averaging under houllier?
and how many did he manage under benitez?

it has nothing to do with playing "out of position" and things like that. if he leaves it is because we won't get new owners and because he wants to end his career with some trophies.

nothing will happen until the wc is over so not worth speculating really.

lets not be selfish, and if he wants to leave let him leave..

and lets not be greedy by askin a lot of money for him, we shudnt insult his service to the club by putting a big price tag...

the lad hasn't a clue what to do - he wants to win things with liverpool but he is worried that it is not going to happen and so he is considering whether the wrench of leaving liverpool is worth the trophies that he could collect elsewhere - bear in mind that the only real offer on the table for him if he leaves is real madrid and the possibility of playing for jose so of course his agent will speak to them and find out what they have to offer while the wc is ongoing

but nothing is going to happen, no decision will be made until after the world cup and a new manager is in place

all this speculating and backbiting is pointless

He has given us years of service and could have left twice already. If he wants to go then I won't hold it against him. I do think its a big if though and as people are saying, nothing will happen until after the WC.

The spanish press are reporting that RM are no longer interested in Stevie because of the price. Where is the editor getting info on koptalk that a deal has been agreed in principle?

well you shouldn't trust too much in anything you're hearing about lfc. it's all speculation...
