If Coutinho or even Can was causing any disruption within the squad, Klopp would not play them. Klopp is belligerent, he proved that in our summer transfer dealings.
I've lost all emotional attachment to the players, this generation of players is bereft of loyalty. We have always been a club who traded on loyalty, it's been a huge downfall for us and the sooner we realize this, the sooner we can move on and use the players just like they've used us and challenge for titles. For too long we've courted players in the media who've used us to go elsewhere, that has to stop.
Coutinho has 4 1/2 years of a contract with NO release clause with us still to go. We have the upper hand here, we have to remove our personal feelings about what the player wants to what is best for the club. Coutinho still remains one of the best players in the world for his position and replacing him, like for like is not an option. Klopp must tell the player and the club that Coutinho is staying at Liverpool FC.

I agree with much of that Pickles, except to restate my own position and that is to hold him until we ensure that we strengthen sufficiently in both January, and in the coming summer, to enable us to accede to his wish to leave without too great a loss of quality. I'd reluctantly release him under those conditions, as I don't think we can reasonably hold a player much longer than that against his wishes. In any case a club management worth its salt should be able to reasonably adequately replace any player in that time span. We've had all last summer window, the coming January and next summer window to do that, there should be no excuse for failure there IMO.

I agree, Coutinho wants to leave, so we should sell him for the price we want when we are ready to sell, to be fair to Coutinho he has put his head down and got on with it, playing some good football, so we can't knock him for ambition, most Brazilian players dream of playing for Barca or RM.
I suspect the reason Coutinho and his agent/family have gone quiet is that Klopp has done a deal to let him go in the summer, like we did with Suarez, so I am sure we are doing deals now on strengthening the squad (hopefully not in Blackpool again !!!).
We also have Keita arriving, who plays a similar position to Coutinho in MF, watching his goal in the CL the other night, it was very Coutinho'ish, so looking good.
I'm hoping for a bidding war between Barca & PSG !!!

He's putting it in for us and playing extremely well. Suarez tried to force through a move to Arsenal of all clubs, then got his way with his move to Barca. Yet you hold him in high esteem and slam Coutinho? Why?

Phil has behaved much better than Suarez about this, that's for sure.

Yet you hold him in high esteem and slam Coutinho? Why? Don't you think a deal has been struck and that's why he's putting it in and not causing trouble? in the summer we had his family issuing statements how unfair we were being with him etc, I don't want to push him out the door, but it seems inevitable he will leave, so we just need to make it the best deal for us. I give up with footballers now, it's just a business and they are all greedy, so I don't pin my hopes on them and get disappointed anymore, look at Suarez and how he left, but there's always more players coming along like Coutinho, Mane, Salah, there will be more to replace them when they tell us their dream was always to play is Spain.....

If deals are being done behind the scenes he may well be gone already, I understand although not a witness, PC is not 100% applied in training... These sorts of transfers are usually done months before the move is announced.
Maybe it all hinges on who we can get in Jan (if Jan business to be done)?
I also think the price should be upped - he got hatrick in CL, it all about the numbers, Barca set the prices although they maybe didn't want to sell, 200m is the caparison price - if Naymar is the MVP in the world (age and quality), Ronaldo and Messi wrong side of 30 remember.
PC has 4 years left on contract, is of quality (not Naymar level), can perform at CL level got hatrick, so Barca really have no grounds to negotiate the price in my eye's, plus we have to factor the cost of equal replacement quality. SO £150m for me, note not in Euros can't be bothered to convert into quids....
