A part of me wants to say bollox to Barca and demand we keep him because to sell him means it's been an master stroke by FSG and supports their business model.
But..... FSG aside, I'm sure I'm not the only fan who thinks he's not worth 145 Mill Euros (£128 Mill) and if Barca are willing to stump up that kind of wedge for a player who hardly ever completes a full game then cash him in. Let's be honest. When he's not played it's not as if we've missed him. I agree. He can score some neat goals and has some good tricks. But the side would be better with a stronger alternative. And he is kind-a predictble with his cutting on from the left and trying his right foot curlers. Way overpriced by Barca and we should take the money, plus a player or two of theirs.

He's probably always had the ambition of playing for Barca, but I expect half the reason he doesn't want to be here is exactly that we sell our best players and aren't competitive.
If money is tight, we have to sell him but every team would be weaker without him. As someone mentioned, him, Keita and Lallana or a new DM would be formiddable (Finally!) but if he goes, we need top top players, 1-2 max to replace him. Martins/Lemar etc..
IF he stays, despite talk of a proper striker, the midfield/attack is 100% fine, but a new GK/LB plus Keita/VVD probably depends on selling him.

Keep him until after the world cup. Prices are always inflated after world cups. 145million in January will be at least 200million after the world cup in the summer, especially if Coutinho and Brazil do well. Lets remember he also has at least 4 years left on his contract. I don't think it would get to £200m unless he won it almost singlehandedly. World Cup usually throws up a good few at inflated prices that turn sour too. Remember Diouf and Diao? As bad as they were the prize still goes to Juan Sebastian Veron. This time around it could be £40m and upwards for duds as clubs look to cash in.

If we are going to sell him in January it's off no benefit to us. If we have decided we are going to sell him arrange it now. Get the fee settled and done and sell in the summer. We need him if we are looking to get top 4.
Try and buy players in January with the money we'll get in the summer and that will help us push again for top 4. Absolutely pointless selling him in January.

I'm for waiting till summer, however I have the belief PC is not as committed as before, although I can't prove my next bit- I have read that application in training is down on previous seasons.
He has been poor in a couple of matches, effort wise imo. In his defence it's gonna be a long season for most of them, could he be pacing himself?

Makes no sense selling in January, he's cup tied to us in CL, if we get out the group, we need him and Barca/PSG couldn't use him, also, highly unlikely we'd get anyone in January to replace him, so we're weakening the team/squad, very few big deals get done in January.

He hasn't given any reason for us to doubt his commitment and underlined his importance to us yesterday with a simply awesome performance!

Doing it mainly for the observations of the Brazil team manager. he's still a tw@t in my eyes, and sincerely hope he goes in 4 weeks time. He disgusts me.
