Yeah there's a validity to question his competence as you say Pickles, I also agree with your reason for not changing managers under current constraints. I'd also add my own theory as a valid reason for not wishing to sack Klopp just now, and that is as I've stated previously, that I think he's engaged in a battle with the owners to change policy, to force them to compete at the top in the transfer market and recruit top class players. That's worth supporting IMO, and I see any heave by fans against Klopp as playing the owners tune and thereby undermining any chance of us signing the quality we need to compete at the top.

Klopp:

'If you bring one player in for £100m and he gets injured, then it all goes through the chimney,' he said.

'The day that this is football, I'm not in a job anymore, because the game is about playing together.

'That is how everybody in football understands it. You always want to have the best, but building the group is necessary to be successful.

'Other clubs can go out and spend more money and collect top players.

'I want to do it differently. I would even do it differently if I could spend that money.

'I don't know exactly how much money we could spend because nobody has told me, 'No, you can't do this.'

'If I spend money, it is because I am trying to build a team, a real team. Barcelona did it. You can win championships, you can win titles, but there is a manner in which you want it.'

Yeah I recall reading those comments Barr, and I also recall posting my worries about Klopp's seeming blindness to the competitiveness of the PL as a result. However it appears he's learnt since then by opting for two top prices quality players in VvD and Naby in the recent window, and then refusing to settle for 2nd, 3rd or 4th options. It is that apparent change of tack by Klopp that I'm supporting. I hope he has the courage of his convictions and sticks to his new approach.

Those 2 players were not for sale this season and didn't look like it was about money same as the Coutinho situation. Barca went and bought 2 players, we did nothing or rather bought one for next season.

This is always about money. No one is not for sale and even Phil has his price. It is just about valuation havent been met in Phil case.

FSG valued him much more than 130M and Barca just wants to get him for cheap. If we sold Phil and we are forced to put some premium for some panic buy like going for Lemar for 92M. It makes no sense if you get 100M(including add-on 130M) for Phil and then spend most of it on a unproven one. If Barca had offered some serious money like 200M and met the valuation of what FSG think, I dont think FSG would keep Phil.

That is the same situation with VVD and Keita. If we put in 60M/70M/80M/90M/100M/110M or even more, would they still say they are not for sale? Surely not.
It is just us think that they didnt worth that much and their clubs think they worth that much.
Valuation cant be matched and they told you the players are not for sale.

It is about money.

Yeah, the old adage that top sides are built from the back holds IMO too. Neither Klopp nor Rodgers seem to grasp the reality of that. One has paid dearly for it and the other is looking increasingly likely to come a cropper on the Rock of that reality too unfortunately. All of Klopp's current woes were repeatedly predicted by several posters here during the recent window and the previous January window, but his amazing and inexplicable blind spot has now come to haunt him.

I don't think Klopp should be sacked now but he is at risk if this carries on the defence position is negligent management and he is responsible.

It is not just the defence. Our Central midfielders do not help the defence at all.

Henderson, Can, Wijnaldum are all useless at destroying play in midfield and stopping our defence being attacked.

You have to go back to Mascherano in his prime.

Very much agree with this, has anyone else noticed the amount of times that 1 of the opposition players surrounded by 3/4 of our players in midfield, yet that 1 guy still seems to come away with the ball.

True, but again you need to ask the manager why won't he buy a proper holding midfielder? He's had enough time.

Anything less than a win against Huddersfield will probably mean Klopp will be gone this weekend.
Likely result is a draw 2-2.

Yep. They are not going to sack him while we're still in the CL. He'll be given time just as Rafa, Houllier and BR were. End of the season before any decision.

From the outside, it looks like Klopp has had the most freedom in the transfer market out of any manager under FSG.

Klopp doesn't appear to have done anything to address our biggest weakness - our leaky defence. Every team that comes to Anfield knows they've got as good a chance as anywhere to score and that in itself a big psychological advantage.

If we are treating managers equally, I believe he deserves until the end of 2017 and if there's no improvement it is an easy decision in my opinion.
