Sums it up, apart from that i don't think they had another proper chance. But then surely that means we defended well and they profited from one slack moment which seems to be an ongoing theme at the moment. Is that bad luck, bad defending or combination of both? Its bad defending because it happens every game. It's unlucky if it happens as a one off, not week in week out. There is absolutely no way that Shelvey pass can dissect our two central defenders the way it did, no way.

I agree that it was awful defending but they also had luck with the deflection from the tackle. It seems like we are getting punished every time but it's compounded by the fact we aren't making the most of worse mistakes by opposition at the other end (like today).

They had a sitter in the last minute aswell. We could easily have lost the game today.
But when they scored, Shelvey was under no pressure making the pass. In a situation like that our cb's should both have dropped deep. If they can't understand that then they shouldn't play in this league, never mind at Liverpool.
This is basic defending. Why don't we teach them? Lovren standing pat calling an offside instead of trying to catch up didn't make it any better either.

Sure, but if you are a cb you should always try your best doing your stuff.
When the passer is under no pressure you drop deep. That's it. Nothing else to do.
If he had been under pressure you could have pushed up and gone for an offside. But they did nothing and just hoped for a bad pass.

We play with two DMs - and Shelvey shouldn't have that sort of space or time to pick that pass. It's not all the CBs fault - our DMs aren't good enough at shielding the back four. Our rivals have the likes of Kante, Bakayoko, Fernandino, Matic, Dier, Wanyama, etc. They are all better than Hendo/Wij/Can. I think lil Joe Allen would do a job for us in that position ,him and Lucas look like they're being sorely missed.

It was a very poor goal we conceded, Shelvey shouldn't have been allowed the space and time to make the pass, we know he has that ability, we had 2 CB stood off 1 attacker, why wasn't 1 of them closer to him and the other one covering round the back of him, it's real basic stuff here. Are we telling the players to watch particular individuals who are more dangerous and should be given space, like opposing managers probably tell their players about Coutinho or Mane etc.
We are getting unlucky breaks as well, the way the ball got kicked against the attacker and rolled into our goal, you get the feeling if that was against Man Utd or City, it would have rolled past the goal, just feels like any half chance against us is going in at the moment, not an excuse, just saying we aren't getting any breaks either.
I wish we could get a scuffed goal or something, it feels at the moment we can only get worldys like Coutinho's, which are then cancelled out by goals scored by CoCo the clown !!!

our problems runs deeper than the defense. they are just the ones that crack first. confidence is another and of course , now Kloop is no longer an inspiration. The fans has finally seen through this German Brodge

Yep, groundhog day.
Come out and dominate.
Fail to make possession count or take chances.
Concede comedy goals.
Have a poor second half.
Miss sitters by shooting at the keeper or ballooning over.
Subs on too late.
Concede from opponents only chance on goal.
Awful crossing.
Poor decisions in final third.
Midfield overrun.
Goalie jitters.
Rinse and repeat. Your left out clueless at taking corners

I have absolutely no sympathy for us anymore because it happens every week. If that Joselu goal had gone wide instead then we know we'd have gifted them another chance and equaliser somehow. The reason we get punished every game is because we allow or gift the opposition the most easy chances, no team has to work hard against us to score. It's way too easy and I stand by my assessment that we are the worst team in the league when it comes to defending.
