I have never had any qualms about the guy's personal qualities, and I think he is a great human being. He'd be a dream neighbour or godfather to my child. Sole reason I wanted him out of the club was the fact it was going down the drain with him in charge and would have plummeted further next season if he remained there.

Yeah I agree payment of £96,000 into the Hillsborough fund was a great gesture but given his wages in relation to mine and probably yours it's no great deal. I give £50 per month from a basic net income of £1,788 to the PDSA. Rafa received a minimum £24 million before the termination of his contract and it seems to be public knowledge he was paid a further £6 million as a "settlement". We must surely put things into perspective.

you don't know how much of his salary he gives away - this was just one donation.

Let's not look for things all the time when they are not there - it was an extremely nice gesture from an extremely nice man.

People can like Benitez or dislike him, if you like him then great he will never do any wrong in your eyes, but dont have a go at people who dont like him and dont trust his motives because lets face it the man does have form for being devious.

lets not let personal dislike get in the way of commonsense hey, now he gets people having a go because he donated a huge amount of money, maybe not much to Rafa who knows but a hell of a lot to the justice campaign and the lily charity as well.

As for Rafa well we paid him to move from here to the european champions and we are looking at Roy Hodgson, if you wrote this as a story it would be thrown out for being too far fetched!

as with all forums the ones that say well Rafa has gone lets move on are the ones who shafted the guy in forums and on [oops] sites like 606 and talkshite and who are now are on a guilt trip just in case they were wrong and his replacement is far worse!
