Every single successful football team is built on a solid and consistent defence. Winning teams have a Number One goalkeeper who plays every game and their back 4 or 5 depending on system will always be the same, they may change the odd full back but that's it.
Klopp seems to think it's acceptable to not have a number one and rotate his goalkeepers, name me one team that's ever won anything major with this approach. His central defenders change every other week and nobody knows who is going to start at full back every game. This to me sums up our manager, he doesn't care or give any attention/respect to the defensive aspect of the game. I love our attacking play and as a neutral we must be great to watch, but attacks win you games and defences titles as everyone except Klopp seems to know.
We are so poor defensively but it's no wonder we never improve with the manager's approach and consistently changing personnel. Please choose a Number One goalkeeper and stick with him, decide what's your best back 4 and stick with them. Its so basic really.

Everybody likes to talk about how excited we are and how good our attack is, but what is the point if we're not able to defend, what is the point if we're not able to keep the ball, what is the point if we capitulate during important games? Our defence is bare thin and our midfielder dont have the ability to provide cover and link the play. I hope Keita doesnt [oops] off

I think he wants Karius to be number one because he is better than Mignolet at distributing the ball, mainly his footplay. However, after last year's debacle he is easing him in. Pep had a similar problem with Bravo but he just bought another goalkeeper and got rid of Hart. I also don't think he would play Klavan unless Lovren or Matip is injured/tired. However our 2 goalkeepers and 2 CB are not good enough.

For him to chop and change the Goalkeepers and defence the way he has done this early into the season, shows he has NO confidence in them.
Klopp thinks he has endless time to cultivate a team, he'll soon learn that if we have a season like the last, he will be on borrowed time.

Klopp knows pennypinchers are running the club.who took 5-6 good years to understand the bloody game of football. business is going fine for them. To be fair they have backed him this year and if he would have given them players that were available, they were willing to spend.

Switching keepers between CL & PL is the worse option, he needs to choose a keeper and keep playing them for continuity with the defence, then drop them if not happy, like he did last season, but changing every few games is not going to help sort the defensive problems.
