I think he might be worth a shot. He's a free agent so what have we got to lose? Yes he's a right back but he has played cb too. I read that Chelsea were considering taking him over the summer.

i dont know why we think a player is good if big money clubs are rumoured to be interested. i hope that wasnt the reason for the ox signing

TAA was battered against City who saw him as a weak link and took full advantage. If he gets a couple of such games, he may lose his confidence. I was worried when Clyne got injured but was well impressed with TAA, but feel we are very thin at the back, some added experience will surely do, so why not?

Zabaleta would be better, but he isn't available - which Sagna currently is.

Sagna for 4 months would give us some experience in the defence department, and that short period wouldn't destroy our younger player's development either.

Oh, and I wouldn't play Sagna in other competitions than PL and CL. The domestic cups would be good for our youngsters to be blooded in.

We need to get good results in the 2 most important competitions, and for those games we can't act soft and think too much about player development. We need to win as much as we can! Being forced to play youngsters against the elite in Europe and PL isn't a good situation.

However, if we don't get a stop gap right back in (which I doubt we will), I would instead stick Milner in there for some games. He should be better as fullback on that side of the pitch than on the left side.

TAA was left badly exposed, especially after the red card. I couldn't understand why he started instead of Gomez after his performance in the Arsenal game. I'd still rather see our youngsters playing than signing a past it Sagna.

I agree I'd rather see our youngsters play, but you have to be careful you do not destroy their confidence as part of it, I'd rather bring in/play youngsters alongside experienced players.

Putting them alongside Klavan and Matip was always a problem as Klavan is not a regular and struggles, Moreno is an unknown, so out of the regular back 4 of last season, only Matip was playing, so not ideal to drop TAA into, especially against the quality City players like De Bruye/Aguero/Sane etc.

I also don't understand why Klopp didn't play Gomes before TAA, away against an attack like City, we needed a strong defense, IMO Gomes is a better defender, so would makes sense to play him before TAA, especially with Klavan playing, that's not having a go at TAA, as he he didn't get much support from the other players, so not his fault.
